DAILY CARE MANUAL
Acuity LED 1600 Request for daily care Inkjet printer is the precision machine that has highly delicate mechanism. Especially, little dust and paper powder may have effect on a head nozzle spraying ink, and may not get normal printing. To use the inkjet printer in good condition, we recommend the following daily care.

For safe operation Operating environment • Use the printer in a dustless environment. Use of a fan or air blower near the printer may raise a plume of dust which adversely affects the printer. • The printer uses UV curing ink (UV ink). Place the printer in a well-ventilated area. • Operating ambient temperature should be 15 to 30°C (59 to 86°F). Do not use the printer in an area outside this temperature range.
Notes on maintenance • Never disassemble the printer due to risks of electric shock hazards or damage to the printer. • Prevent moisture from entering the printer due to risks or the electric shock hazards or damage to the printer. • Before starting the maintenance operation, be sure to turn off the main power switch and unplug the power cable due to risks of electric shock hazards. • Start the maintenance operation after the UV LED have been sufficiently cooled to avoid injury due to contact with high temperature components. • Do not use benzine, thinner, or any chemical agent containing abrasives. Such materials may deteriorate or deform the surface of the cover. • Do not apply lubricating oil or the like to any part inside the printer, or the mechanical failure may result. • Flocculation (degradation of the ink) may result if water or alcohol is mixed into the UV curing ink (UV ink). Keep water and alcohol away from the nozzles and heads. • The printer uses UV curing ink (UV ink). Be sure to wear the supplied protective glasses (goggles) and gloves when performing the daily care operation.
Maintenance for exterior surface If exterior surface of the printer is dirty, dampen a soft cloth with water or a neutral detergent diluted with water, squeeze it to remove excess water and wipe the surface of the printer.

If the printing result does not improve If the printing result does not improve after head cleaning (
Operation Manual P.2-29), clean the wiper.
• When cleaning, be sure to wear the supplied protective glasses (goggles) as the ink may cause injury to the eyes.
Tools
• Wiper Sponge
• Cleaning swab
• Protective gloves
• Protective glasses (goggles)
Examples of defective printing If the ink head discharging is deteriorated due to dust etc., the printing result may be affected as follows. To avoid these situations, check the nozzle condition periodically before or during a print run. The nozzle condition can be checked with the [Test Draw] (test printing) function. Nozzle deflection
Nozzle clogging
Ink dripping
Sprayed ink

Wiper cleaning The wiper clears ink stuck on the face of the ink head. During normal operation, the wiper blade will become too dusty and degrade cleaning. In order to keep the ink head in a good working, clean the wiper frequently. • When cleaning, be sure to wear the supplied protective glasses (goggles) as the ink may cause injury to the eyes.

Storage of consumables Storage of Cleaning Solution Be sure to store the cleaning solution for maintenance in a cold and dark place, out of the reach of children.
Storage of Media Media should be stored in a dustless place avoiding direct sunlight, high temperature, and humidity.
Storage of Ink Cartridges Store the ink cartridges in a dry place avoiding the direct sunlight. Since the cartridges are delicate items, do not drop them. Avoid contamination and electrostatic discharge onto the IC chip board mounted on the ink cartridge, as shown on the right figure.
