Scenario
As a Web Design Apprentice, your boss has have asked you to research web architecture and web components. Your boss tells you that: Web Architecture is the structure that keeps the web functioning Web components are all the different parts of the architecture

Create a table in Google Docs or other Word Processing Software Make a list of these items in the table:
Architecture Internet, Domain names, ISP, Web 2.0, Web 3.0 Components Server, Client, Router, Website, Web development software, Browser, Email, Blogs 3. Describe what each of these items are and what they do. Give an example for each. Your table could look like the example below:

Write a short report about how websites can be used in organisations. Choose TWO organisations of your choice and write about how they use websites Organisation 1 ● How do they use websites internally in an organisation? ○ How do they share their information? ○ What kind of information do they share? ○ Why is it shared? Organisation 2 ● How do they use websites for customers? ○ How do they share information with their customers? ○ What kind of information do they share? ○ Why do they share this information? ○ How do they use their websites to sell products and services? Tip: Use some of the web components that you described in your table earlier, to help you write your report.
Write this report in the same document as your table.
Task 2
The next task that your boss have given you is to create a website about wearable technology. He keen to set up a website where older people who are not familiar with technology, can get information about this. The categories he would like for this are: ● Head ● Arms ● Feet ● Clothing You would need to choose TWO items of technology per category. 3

Your website would be a minimum of SIX pages but no more than TEN pages. The pages must contain clear pictures of the technology that are being described. The description of the technology should use simple language and should include what the item is , what it does it do and why it is useful .
Design a website to meet the needs of your boss’s new idea. Your design must include: ● Planning of pages ○ A Mindmap of your initial ideas. What pages will you have for wearable tech? what will be on the pages? ○ A Sitemap showing the pages you will have and how they will link ○ Storyboards showing what will be on each page ○ Resources what files, images and text will be on the pages? ● Planning of Construction Features ○ Templates and style sheets ○ Action buttons ○ Hyperlink & hotspots ○ What browser can your website work with? ○ Interactive features (e.g. links, forms, downloads). You should provide annotation of your sitemap and storyboard and resources, with details to how this is relevant for the wearable tech website. Any issues with copyright should be written about in your plan. 4

Using appropriate web development software, create TWO pages for the website you have planned. At this stage, you can create the pages WITH templates and style sheets but WITHOUT CONTENT .
