Dive Center Documentation Instructions: To qualify for SDI/TDI or ERDI Dive Center status, your business or organization must meet the requirements outlined in the appropriate SDI, TDI or ERDI Standards and Procedures Manual. The chart below summarizes these requirements. Some of these you will only be able to meet after International Training approves your application and supplies your dive center with the necessary recognition materials and/or credentials. Others require that you submit documentation along with your Dive
Center Application. See the reverse side for descriptions of the type of documentation you should include, depending on the type of Dive Center designation you are seeking. Note: If you are upgrading to a higher Dive Center designation, you need only document those requirements which are over and above the requirements for the Dive Center designation for which your business or organization has already qualified.

SDI, TDI or ERDI Dive Center Documentation Procedures Instructions: Some or all of the following standards may apply to the Dive Center designation for which your business/organization would like to qualify (consult the check list on the reverse side or the appropriate SDI, TDI or ERDI Standards and Procedures Manual to see which specific standards apply). As part of the application process, you will need to document the fact you qualify in the appropriate areas. The information appearing here explains what type of documentation to include with your application to establish that you meet the applicable standard. If you have any questions, feel free to contact International Training (SDI, TDI and ERDI) for clarification.
Standards
To qualify for a particular SDI/TDI Dive Center designation, your business or organization may need to: • Display the [SDI/TDI] logo prominently on its store front or store sign. • Display the [SDI/TDI] logo prominently on its website and provide a reciprocal link to the [SDI/TDI] website. Documentation Procedure: If yours is not yet a SDI or TDI Dive Center, no specific documentation is required when applying for SDI/TDI Dive Center Status. Upon acceptance of the application, the Dive Center will receive recognition materials for the store front/store sign and website, and is expected to display them in accordance with standards. Compliance with this standard is subject to periodic checking by International Training. • Accept students for open-water training from SDI Dive Centers, using SDI’s Global Referral. Referral students are to be taught in accordance with SDI standards — including the use of dive computers — and are not to be issued another agency’s certification in lieu of SDI. Documentation Procedure: Provide copies of the Dive Center’s price list(s) and/or promotional material(s) which indicate that the business or organization supports the SDI Global Referral program. Print-outs of pages from the Dive Center’s website are acceptable. Compliance with this standard is subject to periodic checking by International Training. • At least 50 percent of the instructors teaching through the Dive Center are to be in active or sustaining status with SDI, TDI and/or ERDI. • Have an active Teaching status [SDI/TDI] Instructor Trainer on staff, who is capable of conducting [SDI/TDI] Instructor-level courses. Documentation Procedure: Applicants are to list the names and Instructor numbers of the Teaching status [SDI/TDI] Instructors/Instructor Trainers and other SDI/TDI leadership personnel employed by the dive center on their application forms. This information will be verified by International Training. (Note: New SDI Dive Centers should list the names of the otheragency instructors/dive leaders who will be crossing over to SDI as part of the New Dive Center Orientation program or obtaining SDI/TDI certification through other means.) • Offer [SDI/TDI] as the Dive Center’s primary [recreational/technical] diver certification. Documentation Procedure: Provide copies of the Dive Center’s price list(s) and/or promotional material(s) which indicate that the business or organization promotes [SDI/TDI] over and above all other training agencies. Printouts of pages from the organization’s website are acceptable. Compliance with this standard is subject to periodic checking by International Training. • Conduct at least one SDI Instructor Training Course every year. • Conduct at least two SDI Instructor Development/Instructor Evaluation Courses every year.
• Offer the TDI diver- and instructor-level courses required by standards (Nitrox Diver and Instructor, Deco Procedures Diver and Instructor, Entry-Level Trimix Diver, Advanced Gas Blender, Oxygen Service Technician, Visual Inspection Procedures, CPR/OX, CPR1st). Documentation Procedure: No specific documentation is required when applying for Dive Center Status. Compliance with this standard is subject to verification and periodic checking by International Training. • Purchase [SDI/TDI] materials.
