Easy installation guide Step 1 – Getting Pokemon X/Y romfs.bin
Run Braindump from the homebrew launcher to extract the RomFS and ExeFS files of your original X/Y onto your SD card. The process will take a while but when finished insert the SD card onto your PC and you’ll discover the two files within a long numbered folder (Rename it NeoX/Y). The two files inside will have ‘.bin’ at the end of them, let’s decrypt the romfs!
Step 2 – Getting Pokemon X/Y romfs converted to a folder Copy the Neo X/Y folder into your downloaded Pokemon Neo X Y files folder. Open the Packhack file & run the RomFS extractor program, click open & open the ‘romfs.bin’ file. When done it will create a ‘romfs_’ folder inside the NeoX/Y folder alongside the original files (remove the ‘_’ part).
Step 4 – Installing Neo X/Y into the romfs folder
Go back to the NeoXY1.4 folder and locate the installation hub. From here open up either the ‘full’ or ‘lite’ version and drag the romfs folder into your NeoX/Y folder
Step 4 Now you’ve pathed it’s time to turn those patched romfs and exefs back into an encrypted romfs fo It will ask you to merge the folders together to which you click yes. Then, it will tell you approx 12 files are overlapping, simply hit the replace button for all conflicts.
Step 5 – rebuilding the modded romfs folder into a file Go back into your packhack folder and run the ‘romfs builder’ program
Click open and locate your romfs folder under the Neox/Y folder
When it’s finishing a popup menu will ask what you wish to name the newly built romfs. You MUST name it specifically:
‘00055D00.romfs’ If you are using Pokemon Neo X ‘00055E00.romfs’ If you are using Pokemon Neo Y Now save the named file back in your Neo X/Y folder with the originals
Step 6 (requires installation of HxD, setup included in download) Run the programe and open your newly created romfs file in it. Now you must highlight and delete the first 100 lines of code. You will know you’ve hit 100 when you reach the line ‘00000FF0’. Upon hitting the delete button save the file.
Step 7 – moving the edited romfs file to hans on SD root Now, copy the romfs file from your NeoX/Y folder into your hans folder which you should have installed as part of homebrew so the folder should be on your SD card
Step 8 – Running NeoX/Y! Now take the SD cart and insert it back into your 3DS. Open the homebrew laucher and run HANS with either your pokemon X or Y.
Put your settings like this and select ok, done!
