REDEFINING TRUTH Without question, 2017 is a year of unease. With each passing day, we see the fall of stocks, unprecedented turnover in White House staff, and attempts to assassinate the values which uphold democracy. We live in a time where our leaders’ response to facts is to deny, deflect, and distract. Where those seeking to report the truth have become scapegoats for incompetence in office. Through a combination of systematic prejudice, “pay-to-play” democracy, and our own ignorance, we are faced with an assault on truth. Attempts to avoid politics no longer suffice, as the repercussions have reached into our daily lives. No longer do we have the luxury of picking up our morning paper and trusting the source. We may see a different side to our loved ones, as these trying times bring out underlying anger. Depression looms like a vulture over perceived helplessness, as we feel like there is nothing we can do. To find answers which once seemed so simple, we must turn our attention inwards. What do we live for? For whom do we live? How important is the success of self versus the success of our species? What is the scope of our actions’ impact? What do we accept as truth, and from whom do we accept it? Such existentialism can be eased through expression. As you delve into this issue of FUSE, appreciate the truth of beauty in the human form. Take solace in the human drive to speak through creation. Become inspired by the passion of each one of our models. Let her bravery evoke courage in your own pursuits. Consider each page a love letter to femininity, written in the medium of photography. Allow our stories to challenge your perception. With upcoming expansions, there will be further opportunities to share your stories in the FUSE magazine community. The biggest current threat to our nation is complacency, and through our hard work, we hope that you find truth in your own voice. Rebelliously yours,

my Taylor is a native Californian. While spending nearly 2 decades as a published model, she also received her undergraduate degree in Berkeley, MBA in Los Angeles, and commercial pilot’s licenses in Arizona. When she’s not found in front of the camera, she’s enjoying the sunny skies flying, keeping fit at her gym in Los Angeles, or at the beach playing with her dog. ABOUT ME: Eternally fiery (I’m of Italian and Hungarian ancestry; it’s quite a mix), I’ve got the sort of curves fantasies are made of (32D-25-35), but frankly, one of the things that makes me feel sexiest is taking my semiautomatic out for some marksmanship. I’ve traveled to 45 countries so far, and am eager to see more of the world! Travel is my only addiction.

spending a rainy day messing up a luxurious hotel suite...weathering out a tropical storm in an over-water bure…or nibbling gourmet food and drink between sweaty bouts of sex... TURN-OFFS: Bigotry, ignorance, selfishness. Because I love brilliance and I don’t think it’s possible to be intelligent and also be a bigot, ignorant and/or selfish, these things render someone definitely un-sexy, in my book. BEAUTY REGIMEN: Trying not to fall asleep with my makeup on, and once in a while laying off eating French cheeses. No seriously, I try to eat somewhat healthfully and I do use top-shelf skin and hair products (whatever they convince me to buy at whatever fancy spa I’ve visited in the recent past, will do for me)…but most of my looks are genetic luck. I don’t focus too much on these looks, to be perfectly honest, in daily life. Even though they are nice to have. Guess I’ve always known that they’d fade someday, and that the inside of a person is sexier than any hot shell could ever be.

MEN’S INSATIABLE HUNGER FOR MILF’S WHY SINGLE MOM’S ARE HOT ON THE MEN’S MARKET MODEL: SAMANTHA WEISS INSTAGRAM @SAMANTHAPWEISS

trip away stigma attached to single mothers because survey says, they’re sexier than ever. Familiar with Fergie’s single, “M.I.L.F. $”? Lyrically, according to the AP, Fergie glorifies female sexuality—specifically hot moms. More so, indirectly re-inventing the meaning M.I.L.F to “Mom I’d Like To Follow.” Here are successful dating expectations that MEN should recognize. So, you’ve got your eye on an attractive woman. Attractive and single. Attractive, single, and a MOM. Yes, a M.I.L.F. But, dating her would require hurdles to leap. Do not be troubled, man, you can overcome those hurdles. Let’s navigate to the foreign country of what and how a hot mom can be good for you. Not only can single mommy’s juggle all the responsibilities that come with caring for a child, but also themselves. What does that mean? It means, we—single moms—can do it all and that's what makes us desirable. While balancing building her business and home empire, she sets aside time and energy toward herself to be SEXY. Time is valuable for her. Her hands are full YET she adjusts appropriately to beautify herself. She’s got it all down pat. Exploring that mindset, she typically has clarity with what she wants in life – a quality men find attractive.

Delving through a mans stream of consciousness—a woman with a bit of mystery keeps a man steadfast toward pursuing her. Again, time is limited for a single mom. She might not have the time to see you as often but don’t let that discourage you, my fellow pursuer. Relationships require patience to develop. And a single mom gives that opportunity to pace yourself which takes a tremendous amount of pressure off your pulsating thoughts, “does she want to move in together this soon? Or get engaged?” Naturally, it will unravel itself and you’ll be able to gauge how she feels toward you without her overly involved too soon. A woman who can prioritize, be proactive, all while exuding confidence, sets the bar high for dating standards. These woman gain self-confidence in their ability to tackle challenges whether business wise and or child care responsibilities by being alone. Traits like these are a win-win for a successful relationship. Why? Simple. It’s essential, for any relationship, that each partner is able to hold their own. Refreshing, right? Single moms are resilient, passionate, and just damn sexy. Whether you chose to gawk at M.I.L.F’s or take a leap to date one, the reward is still pleasureful.

CALEXIT:
CALIFORNIA’S CONSCIOUS UNCOUPLING* & MISS ABSAROKA By AdPix.Biz
L
eave it to California – the cozy revolving-door of frequent coupling & uncoupling* – to stir up secession. They claim they now have enough interest to pull out of the United States, making California the 6th largest country in the world. It’s called Calexit Is it legal? You can read volumes of debate on this, elsewhere. For your convenience, we’ve summarized both sides here, along with a little history in a sumptuous sidebar. ARGUMENTS FOR SECESSION: 1 States are sovereign. See the US Constitution’s 9th and 10th Amendments. 2 It’s not prohibited. Everything not prohibited to Sovereign States is allowed to them, as Sovereigns. The War Between the States did not change the Constitution, because Brute Force does not amend the Constitution. Significantly, after that war, former Confederate states were forced to accept legislators that were “hand-picked” by Union states. The Union now had the votes, and some states changed their own constitutions, but still, no one wanted to legally-prohibit future secession in the US Constitution. It was intentionally not prohibited, despite having every opportunity and alleged motivation to do so. 3 Secession was generally accepted prior to 1860, and even encouraged, as taught in the government books at West Point. New England nearly seceded in 1812 (see below) and both Thomas Jefferson & James Madison wrote secession protocols for Kentucky & Virginia. 4 After the War, Confederate President Jefferson Davis was jailed for nearly a year, but never charged, and eventually released. Federal prosecutors could not find anything to charge him with. 5 We sanction secession of other countries, such as Ukraine, Turkmenistan and Latvia. 6 International law supports secession. Countries that secede join the United Nations.
7 The right, and duty, to disband the government is enshrined in our Declaration of Independence. 8 Several states only accepted the Constitution under condition that they retain the right to secede. 9 Our country was organized to allow secession – any serious threat of which is frequently enough to function as another check on tyranny – knowing that dictators have always hated any reserve of sufficient local power as a check on their “swift efficiency.” Tyrannies love quick law-making, legislative one-night stands. Hitler made it an early goal to abolish local state power. 10 Secession is the future. There are roughly twice as many independent countries world-wide than there were 60 years ago. In addition to California and England, there are secessionist movements in Scotland, Venice and Quebec. ARGUMENTS AGAINST SECESSION: 1 “The Civil War stopped secession.” But if you thereby accept Brute Force as a legitimate argument in support of a position, as Lincoln apparently did, then you must also accept Brute Force as acceptable in every debate. Are you ready for that position? Suppose I have more Brute Force than you do? 2 The Constitution never mentions secession. That’s because the States are Sovereign. The rights of states were intentionally never enumerated. 3 The Country is stronger together, than in pieces. But is stronger, better? “Strong” countries have a nasty tendency to kill their own people eventually, which is not usually better. And even if strong was “better,” and even if indivisible was stronger (that’s debatable), so what, because that’s not even the issue. Really, the issue is: could others disagree? If they could, (and they do) do you have a right over them to enforce your position that they cannot leave? Our country says people have a right to be wrong because we don’t want anyone in the position of determining who is able to disagree. So you may believe that “indivisible” means “stronger” and that “stronger” is “better,” but you do not have the right to force everyone else to believe it, unless you believe Lincoln’s Brute Force
*Just Call it Something Else. According to GQ Magazine, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are calling their marriage separation an affirmation to “consciously uncouple.” GQ found a definition: “a proven process for lovingly completing a relationship that will leave you feeling whole and at peace.” Other euphemistic terms they suggest are “reality embracement” & “tectonic karma realignment.” Jewell & Ty Murray called their separation a “tender undoing.” Let’s just drop the inflammatory “secession” word and start calling it California’s Conscious Uncoupling.
FUSEMAGAZINEONLINE.COM 90
“ Secession was generally accepted prior to 1860, and even encouraged, as taught in the government books at West Point. New England nearly seceded in 1812 (see below) and both Thomas Jefferson & James Madison wrote secession protocols for Kentucky & Virginia.” is a valid argument. See #1. 4 George Washington and Alexander Hamilton believed the country needed to be stronger than it was under the Articles of Confederation. But they were out-voted by both the Delegates and the combined States’ legislators, which is why secession was never prohibited in the Constitution. 5 Some professional experts say secession is impossible. Ask them to quote the Constitutional provision that says so. Instead, the US Constitution puts no one over the States, not even a reporter, op-ed columnist, Federal judge or law professor, but for 18 narrow subjects listed for us in Article I section 8. Since secession is not one of those subjects, then these experts can’t stop a state no matter how many talk shows they’re on. But good luck telling them that. Technically, 38 of the States and 2/3rds of Congress could get together and pass an amendment actually putting the Federal government over the states in matters beyond those in Article 1 Section 8, which is how everyone acts anyway. But issues like marijuana, the deficit, Amtrak and the Post Office, remind us that maybe DC isn’t exactly the best supervisor. 6 What about slavery? (or marijuana or abortion or sanctuary cities...) If States are allowed to go their own way, won’t they do something we don’t like? Certainly, we need to be able to kill them, right? You’re back at Brute Force. 7 But don’t we need federal oversight over corrupt local politicians? Yes, so let’s create an even larger even more unaccountable superior force of even more corrupt politicians. Yeah, let’s do that. In fact, let’s just drop the whole Federal thing and let the United Nations govern us all. That should do it. Yeah, they’re cool, shouldn’t be any problem there at all. Just ask the folks in Haiti about how much money they actually received from the international support pledged after the 2010 earthquake – about 1%. The Red Cross raised over $500 million for Haiti and yet only built six homes, due to “third party management fees.” No one knows where the money went, which is why justifying an even bigger government to watch over smaller governments is going in the wrong direction. A bigger government just means a bigger black hole of corruption. 8 There’s a theory that the present United States was formed by the people, not Sovereign States, that the present organization replaces the union of sovereign states. This theory came up again with the discovery of a draft copy of the Declaration of Independence. But it was a draft, the official version instead enforces the sovereign state principle (allowing secession), the official Constitutional amendments allow secession, by their express wording, and the Constitution itself was sent out for ratification by the States, not the People directly.
91
FUSEMAGAZINEONLINE.COM
So really, the only argument against secession is Brute Force. Let’s just be transparent about it and admit it. THE PROCESS What’s required to secede, a vote of Congress? A Presidential Order? Consent of other states? No, each State, as a Sovereign Nation, determines whether it wants to stay in the Union, using whatever method that State selects. That’s what Sovereign means. EXPULSION If California says they are so incompatible with the rest of the country that they need to secede to feel at peace, then it follows that maybe the rest of the US wants to feel at peace, too. Can the remaining states kick California out? Yes, following the process of Article V in the US Constitution. It would take essentially 38 states and 2/3rds of Congress, plus a whole bunch of tweets from Streisand, Cher and miscellaneous Kardashians. THE BIG KICKER – FINANCES If California secedes, or they’re kicked out, will they owe the US money? Will the US owe them money? California justifiably touts the fact that they are near the bottom (47th) in terms of states receiving US taxpayer money. If so, then it could leave without losing much of the paper money from taxpayers in the other 49 states. But California also touts its “progressive” alimony laws by which the anticipated future income of an ex-spouse a factor. The US’s debt of about $20 trillion makes its debt to gross-domestic-product (GDP) ratio of 104.7, dwarfing California’s 17.53. If we assume all other factors are equal, and neither California nor the US have been cheating on each other during the relationship (which would make for a really interesting issue!), then the US could claim California owes it alimony. And frankly that potential Trumps whatever patriotic sentiment would otherwise make California’s secession succeed. So, in other words, they may be able to do it, they maybe should do it, but they can’t afford to do it, and that will end up being the bigger debate, along with who gets the nukes? and who pays child-support for the Kardashians? Short History of Conscious Uncoupling (f/k/a Secession) Everyone knows that 11 Southern States seceded from the US, way back in the 1850’s. (Their secession succeeded. But once most of their men & cows were killed over the next four years by invading Union troops, the Confederate States surrendered and were roped back in to the country, putting a real damper on secession movements for decades.) Few know that counties within those States seceded from the
States! Winston County in Alabama, for example, didn’t want any part of whatever everyone else wanted, & declared independence from the world, basically. Similarly, during the War of 1812, Quakers on Nantucket Island essentially seceded from their state, entering in to a direct treaty with England. Several New England states nearly seceded in 1814 in response to efforts by Presidents Jefferson and Madison toward war with England. The upper peninsula of Michigan has been trying to secede since 1897. No one knows why. In 1850 an area of California called Rough & Ready also seceded, over a new Federal tax. They then immediately voted to return to the US when they were informed that, as foreigners, they could no longer buy alcohol in Nevada. Oops. The Conch Republic seceded in the early 1980’s. When Federal agents basically closed Key West’s tourism down over an especially-enthusiastic drug raid, Key West Mayor Dennis Wardlow declared independence & then immediate war on the US – only to surrender a minute later & demand $1 billion from the US in war reparations.
The southern half of Wyoming tried it (forming the State of Absaroka, even electing a Governor & a Miss Absaroka!) & they may be still be trying to secede, if anyone cares to check. Northern California and southern Oregon’s efforts to merge, since 1852, succeeded finally in December of 1941, creating the State of Jefferson, electing a Governor & creating a state flag. But Pearl Harbor sucked away all of the favorable media coverage, so they dropped it. Alaska’s secessionist movement has been active for over 100 years, receiving about 4% of the vote in elections. This is a state that makes so much money from oil that each Alaskan receives a nice yearly “bonus” check from their government (about $1,000). They also joined a “North American Secessionist Convention” in 2006, along with Vermont, Hawaii & Southern states. In case you didn’t catch it, the State of Absaroka had the best idea when they seceded from Wyoming and not only elected a Governor, but a Miss Absaroka! That’s really smart. We’ll know California is serious when they elect a Miss Calexit, or Miss Republic of California, and here’s where Fuse Magazine can step out front and take the lead. Which of the lovely Fuse Models should it be... FUSEMAGAZINEONLINE.COM 92 92

POEM: DYLAN KLETT A red angel and a holy man, angry with his god Found each other in the slums of their faith They walked together, side by side. Rain fell, and muddied the ground. They did not speak for a long time. They let their feet wallow in motion Let the air wrap their bodies in cold. They were more comfortable numb. The holy man watched the red angel Watched wet stars fall from his face. He did not ask why roses grew Where the crystal drops touched the ground But he did ask why they were so covered in thorns. The red angel looked at him in shame And he said, I am so disgraced My wings now blush, bleed misplaced pride. He said, I cannot bear the cloudy flight Of empty headed ignorance. And then I don’t want anyone to pluck these flowers, he said The Earth will be good to them. Their roots deserve to be deep. The red angel watched the holy man Watched his eyes look anywhere but to the sky. He did not ask why he looked so unafraid Why his face was young, and yet so tired But he did ask what he was afraid of. The holy man looked at him in desperation And he said, when you leave a woman you no longer love She usually will not follow Or at the very least, you can hide. But, he said, when a favorite child leaves his father I may as well outrun the sky. And then All my parents are buried, he said Two of them have tombstones next to each other. The last one lies dead and restless in a book. Around them, the world grew dark And still it rained.
