Chapter 1 Christmas Eve The holiday season had snuck up on her, and this year it seemed like it was far more hectic for Jamie than she ever remembered it being before. Most likely it had something to do with having a fantastic job, reconciling with her family for the most part, and having a boyfriend who actually cared about her as a person. He would probably pull out all the stops in terms of gift-giving, but she wanted to find something really special that maybe didn't come from a store or cost a chunk of money. Alex had the means to get anything he wanted for himself anyway. Jamie turned as the door to her office opened. The black sweater dress she wore matched her boots perfectly, and was accentuated with a red belt and a bit of Christmas jewelry to match. Her black leggings kept her warm and business-like. The staff had been given the day off, and had been asked to stop by any time after two that afternoon to pick up their Christmas bonuses and gifts from Gina. Alex poked his head into her office, the smile on his face warming Jamie to the center of her soul. "What's that big grin for?" she asked as her handsome billionaire boss-turned-roommate-boyfriend walked in and closed the door behind him. "Just feel like I've got everything in the world to be grateful for." He pulled her into a tight hug and gave her a sexy smile. "Especially you." She beamed and squeezed him tightly. The slate grey sweater he wore fit him perfectly and felt good under her fingers. A soft growl left her as desire pumped through her due to his nearness. His eyes widened and his smile grew naughty. "Oh yeah? My kitten in the mood to be petted?" "Always, but..." she pulled from him and turned back to face the six tables stacked with random gifts they'd gone out to buy. "Looks like

sexy time’s going to have to come later. My boss is generous to his staff." "Especially in the bedroom." He wrapped his arms around her from behind and nuzzled her neck. A smile covered her face. "In the bedroom? All your staff gets to see your giving nature in the bedroom?" He stiffened. "What? No. I meant... What I meant was..." She pulled from him and laughed heartily. "I know what you meant, handsome. I’m just teasing you." "I wish you would tease me... in the bedroom." It was his turn to laugh. "Do you think we got enough for everyone?" Jamie picked up a DVD player and glanced over her shoulder. She couldn't help but smile as Alex readjusted himself; simply touching each other left him aroused. "I think we’ve got more than enough, Alex. Each gift in this pile is at least a hundred dollars. It's going to be pretty cool to have it be a random gift-giving event too. I'd love to draw any of these bad boys." She set the gift down and turned toward him once more as Gina walked into the room. She winked at her friend. "What I don't want to do is wrap all these things." "Right?” Gina rolled her eyes. “This is going to take forever! We need to ask Santa where his elves have gone." Gina put her hands on her hips and paused beside Alex. Her long chestnut hair was up in a messy bun, and her Christmas sweater was beyond cute. Jamie glanced toward Alex. "Hey, Santa, where are all of your intern helper elves?" He glanced at his watch. "Actually, smart-butts... they should be in here thirty minutes. I had one of the finance managers coordinate getting them in here at eleven today. The only ones who got off the hook were the ones who were headed out of town." "Who's managing all those crazies?" Gina asked as Alex walked toward the door. "You two are." He paused, seeming to ignore the grumbling as his eyes glazed over. "Oh, man, I totally forgot something."
11/70
Jamie turned from Gina and lifted her eyebrow. "What's that?" "A tree! We have to have a tree in the house. It's Christmas, for shit’s sake," he chuckled. "Alright, girls. Get your whips cracking on those elves when they get here, and let's get these gifts all wrapped up. I'll be back soon." "Whips? Sounds like an HR nightmare," Jamie mumbled as warmth spread up her chest to cover her cheeks. Alex's eyes grew wide for the second time that day. "Not you. You're all mine. Let Gina whip them. I don't want one of them falling for you." "Got it, boss." Jamie turned back to Gina, and playfully rolled her eyes as Alex left them alone. "You know what I hate more than anything during the holidays?" "Wrapping gifts, for sure." Gina moved to pick up a roll of paper. "That, and crazy people. Gift-wrapping extremely large numbers of presents make them crazy. It takes forever to get everything wrapped and pretty, and then people rip into the stuff like it holds the secrets to life. Two seconds later, your masterpiece is all over the floor." Jamie walked to the door of her office to watch Alex get on the elevator. He turned and pressed his shoulders to the back of it, his eyes on her as his hands slid down his stomach and gripped himself. "Not fair!" she yelled as the door closed. "I swear that man is going to be the death of me." "He's going to be the death of all of us. Interns or not... this is torture." Gina worked to separate like-kind gifts into piles. She laughed, knowing Gina hadn’t seen Alex’s action. Half a year ago, she swore Alex would never have done something like that. She giggled again. The holidays made people crazy. "I love how Alex is in such a good mood. It's almost like the Christmas spirit has gotten a hold of him." "It has, and I've honestly never seem him so excited in all our years of working together."
12/70
"Really?" Jamie stopped from a minute. "He's not usually this jolly during the holidays?" "Hell, no; he's a regular Scrooge," she chuckled. "I think having a Mrs. Claus is helping the mood - a lot." Jamie chuckled. "I like the thought of that." *** She crossed her arms over her chest and glanced around the room two hours later, every single gift having been wrapped perfectly and beautifully. The seven interns who had come to help were worn out, and Gina didn't look much better. "Great job, guys. Incredible." Jamie nodded toward the gifts. "Pick out whichever one you want, and then you can get out of here and start enjoying your holiday." "Are you sure?" One of the smaller of the girls pointed at the stacked tables. "Seems like you should just randomly give them to us. We know what's in them." Gina wrapped an arm around the girl's shoulders. "Exactly. It's part of the 'thank you' for being here today. Grab one and get the heck out of here." "You don't have to ask me twice." One of the guys picked up a medium-sized box as he beamed. "I've been wanting a Play Station since these new ones came out. I assume Mr. Reid picked this out?" "Nope. I did. I'm a gamer in disguise, but don't tell anyone," Jamie responded, and let out a resounding chuckle as the boy's eyes widened. They grabbed their gifts, said their goodbyes, and left. Not a second later, Alex walked back into the office, bits of snow in his hair and covering the shoulders of his black wool coat. His expression was downcast compared to earlier. "What's the matter?" Jamie set down the bag of bows she was holding and walked to him, sliding her arms around his middle and glancing up to watch him closely.
13/70
Gina knew of their relationship, as most of the office did now. After a rough early part of the year, they decided to take their relationship to the next level, which included being a couple in public and at the office. It was like Iron Man had finally admitted he loved Pepper Potts. "I just got a call from Jeremy Whittington. His little one’s in the hospital with walking pneumonia. Just shaken by how bad Jer said it was." Alex shrugged before wrapping Jamie in a tight hug. "That's not good.” Jeremy had fantastic business acumen. Jamie didn’t know he had a family, besides his wife. “We should go to the hospital and visit the family. You can take Jeremy's gift and maybe pick up a few things for his kiddo. Boy or girl?" Jamie moved back and brushed the snow from Alex's broad shoulders. "Six-year-old little girl. Alyssa." He leaned in and kissed Jamie softly, as if no one else was in the room. "I love your giving heart. Keeps me warm inside and wanting to be a better man." Her voice softened due to the flood of emotion that swept through her. "You were a better man long before I met you." Gina broke up the moment comically. "Alright, you two; unless you're going to introduce me to a hunk I can cuddle and snuggle up to, break it up. Some of us don't need a reminder of our lack during the holidays." Jamie turned and walked toward Gina, pulling her into an awkward side hug. "You're going to find the perfect man. I promise." "Nope. She's not." Alex moved toward the gifts and started pushing them around. "Why’s that?" Jamie asked as she released Gina. "Because there's only one perfect man, and he's taken." He gave them a cheeky grin. "Did I say perfect? I just meant good. Perfect just took on a whole new meaning." The pseudo- sauciness in Gina's voice was perfect for another good laugh. "You know I'm kidding." Alex walked to the door and paused. "Everything’s ready for the present pick-ups, Gina?"
14/70
"Yes, sir.” “You can handle it?” Alex asked. Gina waved her hand. “I didn’t expect you to stick around and give presents to hundreds of employees.” She smiled and motioned to Jamie and Alex. “You guys get out of here, and I'll take care of it." She picked up a random gift and shook it. "One for them, two for me." "You need more than that, for sure. Putting up with me all year should get you a new house and a boat." "I'll take both. Thank you, boss man." She walked across the room and gave Alex a quick hug. The warmth between the two of them caused Jamie's eyes to fill with tears. "Let's go." Alex moved out of Gina's embrace and glanced over at Jamie, the smile on his face kind and understanding of her emotions. "We need to get a tree." Jamie wiped the corner of her eyes and walked out of her office with the two of them. "I thought you just went to get a tree." "In my Lexus? No, silly woman." He reached out and took her hand. "I needed a truck to get the tree." "You bought a truck?" Jamie lifted an eyebrow as she snuggled against his side. "You're surprised by this?" Gina chuckled and moved to her desk. "Have fun, guys, and Merry Christmas." "Merry Christmas, Gina." Alex walked them toward the elevator and pulled Jamie inside as she said her final goodbyes. He pressed her to the wall just after the door closed, and ran his hands down her sides and over her hips. "I got the truck so we could do this thing the right way. Just like I'm going to do you tonight." "I want that... now." She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down, pressing her warm lips to his cold ones. His tongue pressed against her lips and she tilted her head a little, opening her mouth to take it.
15/70
He groaned deep in his chest, and her body lit on fire. Maybe there would be time to stop by the house before they got the tree, or between getting the tree and going to the hospital. Yeah... that'll work. The kiss was cut short by the elevator opening and someone clearing their throat. Jamie blushed as she pulled from Alex and murmured her apologies. "I'm not sorry. You're so damn hot, baby. The fire I want to warm up again every night," he whispered in her ear. He wrapped his arm back around her and leaned down to kiss her nose before they got out of the elevator and let the older couple in. Jamie tried to pull herself from nefariously wicked sexual fantasies that starred the hot guy beside her. Alex opened the front door to the building as a flurry of snow dropped from the sky. She couldn't help but glance up. "I love this time of year." "Me too," Alex responded, "but you need to come on before I freeze my ass off." He opened the door to a large white pickup truck and helped her get into it. She waited until he was inside too, and they were headed toward a tree farm out in the country to respond, "No freezing your ass off. I like it too much." "Good. It's all yours." He licked his lips and glanced at her. It didn't take much, and she was already thinking about him naked and sweaty again.
Chapter 2
The ride to the tree farm was quick and comfortable, the silence between them not needing to be filled by idle chatter. He parked the truck on the snow-covered grass and turned the engine off. "You ready?" The excitement in his face was almost palpable. "I am. Are you always this excited at Christmas time?" She opened her door and got out. He walked around to her side and shut her door before pressing her against the side of the truck with his body. "No. It's the first year I have someone to celebrate with. I can't help this feeling inside of me that keeps bubbling up." "I love it." She stretched onto her toes and gave him a sweet kiss. "Yeah, well, I love you." He pressed his hips forward and kissed her once more, deepening it a little before pressing his forehead to hers and panting softly. "I want you. It feels like forever since I've been buried inside you." "It was this morning before we left for work, horny man," she giggled and pushed at his chest. "That was forever ago. I want more." He chased after her as she jogged toward the opening to the tree farm. "Gimme!" "All yours, but behave for the next hour, and I'll warm you up on the way back to the house." He stopped beside her and took her hand. "I like the sound of that." "Good." Jamie let out a soft exhale, loving the smoky manifestation of her breath. It was freezing cold out, which was fun for a while, but they'd have to hurry, or freezing their asses off would be the least of their worries. Fingers usually went first, and Alex was too talented with his to chance it.
17/70
"Alright. Let's get the biggest tree we can find." He walked to the counter and pulled out his wallet. Jamie let him talk with the owner about where the large trees were located, and walked around, looking at the beautiful evergreens that lined the large lot ahead of her in thick rows. He walked up beside her a few minutes later with an ax over his shoulder. "How do I look?" She glanced over at him and lifted her hand to her mouth, laughing loudly. "Like a hot, sexy lumberjack.” She couldn’t keep a straight face. “Are we really supposed to chop down the tree with an ax?" "I don't know. I'm new to this. Maybe it's a newbie joke the old guy is pulling. He offered me a chainsaw, but said that real men chop their trees down with this." He smirked. "Oh, for Pete’s sake! You men and your need to prove your manhood.” She rolled her eyes, but couldn’t hide her smile. “Did he give you a number to call for him to deliver the chainsaw when you've had enough of chopping?" "Hey! Stop attacking my manhood." He reached for her hand. "Oh, baby... I've not even started to attack your manhood. That's for the truck ride home." He over-exaggerated swallowing. "Let's get this big-ass tree and get the hell out of here." "You know the ceilings are high at the house, but not as tall as the sky. Let’s make sure we get a tree that's going to fit." Jamie pointed toward the medium-sized trees. "Something like that." "What? No. We need something huge. You're a girl. You don't know how to measure stuff just by looking at it." "Sure do." She tugged her hand from his. "Eight inches is something I've got down well." "You bad thing." He popped her butt and moved toward a huge evergreen. "I want this one for us."
18/70
"That's too big, Alex. Seriously." She walked around the tree and took a deep breath. The familiar smell brought back a slew of childhood memories, good and bad. "It's perfect. Alright... how do we do this?" He leaned down as if hitting a golf ball, and smacked the ax into the side of the tree. Snow flew off the tree and covered them as a bird flew from the center of the tree. It had Jamie running in one direction and Alex in the other. She turned and burst into laughter, her eyes filling with tears at the wild look on his face. "What?" He smirked. "It scared you too." "That was priceless." She walked back toward the tree and pulled out her phone. "What's the number for the guy at the front? We don't have all day for this." "Sure we do. I'll cut it some, and then you can too, Miss Eight Inches." She shook her head and motioned for him to have at it. He got on his knees and started to swing the ax at the trunk, never once hitting the same cut mark. A few minutes later he glanced up, sweaty and exhausted. "Right. Call the guy. Fuck this." He rolled onto his side and then his back, breathing deeply as he panted from working hard and attaining nothing. Jamie laughed at him for a second, and then called the owner. She dropped down beside Alex as they waited and pressed her hand to his chest. "Real men don't cut down their own trees. You know that, right?" "No? Shit! Why didn't someone tell me that from the start?" "Because it was too much fun to watch you." She yelped as he pulled her down and rolled over in the snow with her, pressing his body on top of hers. "I’ve a lot of other things I'd rather you watch me do." He wagged his eyebrows, but pulled back at the sound of a little boy's voice.
19/70
"Daddy. What’re they doing in the snow? I thought you said I couldn't play in it, or my fingers would freeze off." The tyke couldn't have been more than eight. “Are they trying to make snow angels?” Alex got up and pulled Jamie up with him. The dad smiled and nodded, ignoring the boy's question. "You guys need help?" "We sure do." Alex pulled out his wallet. "The owner was coming over here to do it, but I'd rather pay you guys if you're willing to help us." "No need for that." The older man smiled and cranked up his chainsaw. Jamie snuggled against Alex as they watched the tree come down moments later. It was too cute to watch the father and son team helping people at the tree farm together. "There you go. Want us to help you drag it back to the car?" The boy brushed his hands on his little legs. "I sure do." Alex smiled and moved up, grabbing a handful of the tree alongside the boy and his father. Jamie jogged to the truck and opened the tailgate, only helping when they reached the truck. Alex slipped the dad a few hundred dollars, and gave one to the kid as well. The little boy’s eyes grew wide and he started to jump up and down. "Merry Christmas." Alex opened Jamie's door and helped her in. She reached out and stopped him from shutting the door. "That was so sweet of you." "I did it to impress you." He shrugged and closed her door, but the slight lifting of his lip told her he was teasing. "You did not." She glanced over at him and touched his shoulder lovingly. "You're just a good guy, whether you admit it or not." "Right. Well, this good guy wants his prize." He started the truck and reached for her, pulling her along the bench seat toward him. "Tell me again what I get."
20/70
Jamie slid her hand along his package, and squeezed softly as she moved up to press her lips to his ear. "Tell me what you want." "I want anything you're giving. I want you." He turned and kissed her quickly before turning his attention back to the road. "You’re so good with words, baby." She moved to lay down on her stomach on the bench seat and bent her knees so her shins pressed against her door. Tugging at Alex's sweater, she pulled his undershirt free and worked to release him from his jeans. He glanced down and slid his hand into her hair as he let out a soft growl. "Fuck, I need this." "Yeah, you do." She smiled at the delicious thickness of his cock as it sprang from his pants. A few quick strokes, and she moved up, replacing her palm with her mouth. He was warm and harder than she remembered him being that morning. He was needy, and something about being the one to offer him relief was beyond hot. "Your mouth is so warm, baby. So wet." He spoke with a guttural slur in his words as he shifted his hips up, forcing a little more into her mouth. She took anything he gave, and worked him to the edge of orgasm quickly. The sound of him panting loudly, mixed with the tight grip he had on her hair and his groans caused her own body to flood with lubrication. "I'm gonna come, Jamie. Pull back, babe, and I'll finish it." He tugged at her hair as she growled loudly. "Shit. Alright. Do what you want. It's yours anyway." He cried out as she picked up the pace, licking and sucking hard to drink him down as she knew he desired most. The tremor that ran through him left her smiling around his cock and wanting to do it all over again. "Fuck. I love you so fucking much." He let out a long sigh and worked to get himself back into his jeans as he concentrated on the road.
21/70
"I love you, too, but just so you know..." She paused and kissed his cheek. "That tree isn't fitting in the house. I know how to make things fit into tight places, and that isn't happening." He glanced over at her with enough heat in his gaze to burn her. "Stop being sexy, or I'll pull this truck over on the side of the road and mount you." "Please?" She batted her eyelashes and moved back to her side of the truck while he took steady breaths. By the time they reached the house, the color in his face had gone back to normal, and he was calm from what she could tell, almost sleepy. The billionaire business man had finally relaxed. They stopped in front of the house, and Jamie glanced toward the back window, noticing for the first time that there were tons of bags in the backseat. "What's all this?" He glanced back too after turning off the engine. "Decorations for the tree; I went red and green because that's the color of your decorations in your office. I thought you'd like them." "How fun! I love it." She got out of the truck and started to get the ornaments out, but paused. There was no way the tree was fitting in the house. She could wait to get everything else out until they knew if they actually had a tree or not. She couldn't help but chuckle to herself over how cute Alex had been when trying to get the tree down, but even more so with his innocent belief that the tree was going to fit into the house. It wasn't. "You want to try to help me muscle this thing inside or should I call one of my guys to come help?" Alex moved to the back of the truck and let down the tailgate. "I'll do it." Jamie ran her hand down the body of the truck, admiring it. "This is beautiful, but why white? All of your other vehicles are black or red." "I figured it would be good for the holiday season. It's white like snow." He shrugged, quite unaware of just how adorable he was when he wasn't trying.
22/70
"I love it." She got up into the bed of the truck and moved to the back. "Just back up and we'll work it out of the truck." It took a few minutes, but they got the large tree out of the truck and to the door before Jamie had to pause for a break. She opened the front door to the house and shook her head. "I have a bad feeling about this," she mumbled. "What?" he yelled from behind the tree. "Nothing. Just push... okay?" She picked up the tip of the tree and walked backwards as Alex pushed way too hard. She stumbled backward and slid across the floor as the tree made its way into the foyer. "Are you helping at all?" he asked, his whole body hidden by the base of the tree. "Yes." She got up and wiped her hand on her pants before walking around to the side to catch his eye. "Let's stand it up here because this is the highest the ceiling gets. It if doesn't fit, we can take it back out." "What? No. It's going to be fine. I'm a man. I know these things." He gave her a cheeky grin, which awarded him a growl. "Alright, but I get to say I told you so. I’m a woman." She shrugged and moved back, picking up the tree and moving on his directives. They got to the living room, both of them covered in sweat, and pushed the tree to its standing position, only it wouldn't go. It had to be two feet too tall – at least. "What the fuck? Really? No bloody way!" Alex moved back and shook his head. "This can't be right." Jamie lifted her eyebrow. "Right? It totally should have fit. I mean, damn... you’re a man and a lumberjack. There's no way you got this wrong." "I'm going to spank your ass for that." He moved toward her as she took off for the master bedroom. She jumped onto the bed and rolled over onto her back as the sound of the front door slamming filled the air around her. She heard Alex kick of his boots after closing the door. "Come get it!" she yelled and pulled off her own boots, followed by her leggings.
23/70
"Oh, I'm coming. Wicked woman." He walked into the room as he tugged off his sweater and then his shirt. Crawling up onto the bed, he covered the top of her and pressed himself against her. "How did you know it wasn't going to fit?" "I told you it wasn't. My family has always gotten a real tree, and, even though I'm a woman... I still can mentally measure things." He chuckled. "Alright. You win. I've got something else I want you to measure too." She slid her hands down to the hem of her shirt before pulling it over her head. He helped her a little and then laid back down on top of her, his mouth going to her breasts above her bra. "Anything you want. Pull it out and we'll test it in several ways." She slid her hands into his hair as he tugged the front of her bra down and lavishly licked at her nipples. Pleasure rolled through her, and she opened her legs, giving him more room and access to the center of her body. "Such a good girl, Jamie." He moved down farther and pressed a kiss to her mound. "What are we going to do with this fucking tree that you got that's way too big?" She lifted her hips, pressing herself against his mouth as he nipped at her panties and the sensitive skin that peeked around the edges of the wet silk. "Let's take it to Scott Thompson Hospital with us. The kids can decorate it and then enjoy it." "I love it. Now... hush." He reached up and pulled her panties to the side before pressing his mouth to her. She cried out, losing her will to retort in a silly manner. The games were off for a little while. Pleasure was all she was after, and he was the best gift-giver in that category – by far. His fingers slid deep inside of her, and she undulated her hips again, working herself against his thick digits and his hungry mouth. "So delicious, Jamie. You taste like heaven." He worked her harder and faster until stars burst behind her closed eyelids and she gave herself over to the experience he offered.
24/70
A cry ripped from her as she arched her back and rode the wave of ecstasy. He moaned against her wet skin as he continued to flick his tongue over her sensitive parts. When she could take no more, she pushed at his head and turned on her side, panting softly. "So good," she mumbled and tugged his arm tightly around her after he'd repositioned just behind her. He worked on his pants and pressed his thick cock against her entrance as he spooned her perfectly. "Good. You want me?" "Yeah. I want it." She pressed back a little, taking the thick head into her body as they both groaned. She'd started on the pill three months back, and they'd both been tested just to gain clearance that they could start making love without the hindrance of a condom. Nothing was better than feeling Alex's skin against her. Best decision ever. "Dress like a naughty elf for me today, and I'll play Santa for the kids." He pressed forward, forcing more of himself inside of her as he fondled her breasts. "I don't have an outfit, but that sounds like fun. Let's get some." She rocked her hips back and forth, starting to work his large cock the way she knew he loved best. Slow and steady. "I got them for us. I can't wait to see you in it." He rolled her onto her stomach and mounted her from behind, pressing into her deeply as he groaned. "I've always wanted a naughty little present to unwrap at Christmas." He pressed his hands beside her head and started to fuck harder. "As long as you promise to consume the goods as soon as you pull off the wrapping, it's all yours." She lifted her ass a little in the air, as if giving him a taste of what was to come. "Fuck," he grunted and worked her past the point of pleasure, and into something electrifying.
Chapter 3 The outfit Alex bought fit perfectly, and didn't at all seem overly sexy, which was a good thing. Jamie turned once more in front of the bathroom mirror, taking notice of the fact that she still had a little way to go, but overall... for the first time in her life, she was happy with herself. Content. She would always be bigger than the models on the covers of magazines, but she was a healthy, whole, real woman. It was all good, and she felt good. The red teddy under her cute little elf costume helped a little too. She’d bought that last week as part of her Christmas present to Alex. She walked out of the guest bathroom to find him walking back into the house, covered in pine needles and sweat. He stopped short as his eyes moved across her. "Wow." He pressed his hand to his chest. "You're the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in all my life." "In this?" she laughed, and turned as the bells on her little shoes jingled. "Yes, in that. I feel like a boy again." He took a few steps toward her and bit into his lip. "Do you have anything underneath it? Please tell me you do. Lie if you must." She giggled playfully and reached down, tugging at the dress that hit her mid-thigh and lifting it just enough for him to see the red garter. "Something very naughty, just for you." She turned and lifted it more, showing the bottom of her rear to him as he growled and walked across the room. His hands were cold as he slid them over her soft flesh and squeezed firmly. His lips pressed to the side of her neck and he breathed deeply, sending chill bumps all over her. "This might not be a good idea. My Santa suit is a little more fitted than I wanted, and there is no room for a belly, or an erection cover-up of any sort." He nibbled her earlobe. "Wanna see what it looks like?"

"More than you know." She pressed back, wiggling her hips to tease him a little. “Oh you’re talking about your Santa suit. My bad.” "Naughty little elf." He nipped at her ear again and moved back, turning and jogging toward the bedroom. She'd never seen a 'fit' Santa, but there was a first time for everything, and if anyone could pull it off, it was Alex. She tugged her dress down and walked to the kitchen to get a broom. The maids would be coming on the 26th, but she wanted everything to look good for Alex's brother's visit. Mark had been through a rough divorce over the summer, and where he and Alex still had a lot of rebuilding to do, it was the holidays, and they decided to let bygones be bygones for a little while. Jamie finished sweeping up the mess the tree left as they’d muscled it around the house. She glanced up as Alex opened the bedroom door, and her mouth fell open. The suit was really well fitted, like a glove. The bulge between his thighs was noticeable, but certainly it was due to him having an erection at the moment. Her showing her barely-clad Christmassy ass to him had its intended effect, no doubt. "You think it’s okay? I swear it's the largest one they had." He tugged at the crotch of the pants a little. "Fuck, yes. You look like a Superman version of Santa. I'm glad it's a kids wing we’re going to. Otherwise, I'd be beating back women all afternoon. Let's hope most of the moms are out and about." She smirked and walked toward him, cupping his package and leaning up to press a kiss to his lips. "I want this for Christmas, Santa." "Oh, woman... you're getting this and so much more." He pulled her into a tight hug and consumed her mouth. Jamie leaned back and smiled. "Let's get out of her before I ask to sit on your lap." "So naughty." "And nice?" she laughed again and pulled from him. They had to go... or they weren't going to at all...

*** Jamie extended her hand to Dr. Elijah Bennet as he gave them a warm welcome. She was a little surprised to have the head of the hospital greet them, but Alex seemed to know the man. He was nearly as good-looking as Alex. Nearly. "Elijah; it’s good to see you again!" Alex wrapped an arm around Jamie's shoulder. "We just wanted to spread a little cheer, and don't say a damn thing about this costume to anyone." Dr. Bennet laughed. "Not a word. Besides, you're one of our best benefactors. You could come up here wearing a too-tight Santa outfit, and none of us would say anything. Wait... you are." Jamie snorted before clamping her hand over her face. "Keep it up," Alex warned them both. "Alright. Let's get the tree inside, and those little ones who can come out and help, let's get them started on decorating it." Jamie took control, wanting to get the party in full swing. "Let's do this." Alex turned toward her and slid his hands down her arms. "There is an electronics store half a mile down the road. Take my card and get a bunch of small electronics for these kiddos. Elijah and I will work on the tree. Have the store wrap them for you really quick if they're able. We'll keep the kids busy until you get back, and then you and I can hand out gifts." Dr. Bennet moved up beside them. "Alex. You really don't need to go to all that trouble, my friend. This is more than enough. Honestly." "No. I want to." Alex glanced over at Jamie and smiled. "You mind playing elf?" "Of course not." She moved up to kiss him, and then took his card and walked back to the truck as her vision blurred. Alex was beyond giving toward her in so many ways, but never had she imagined him to go all out for a group of kids at the hospital. It just showed the depth of
28/70
his character, and that maybe she didn't know nearly enough about him. He'd given her a key to his place in the spring that year, and it had been a great next step for them. She'd almost expected a ring the night he gave her the key, but it would have been too soon anyway. She got into the truck and let out a slow sigh of appreciation. She would have to check in with her family to see if they still planned on getting together at her mom and dad's for dinner on Christmas Day. Mark would be coming with them, but it was a good thing. Where Jamie had started to work on things with her parents, there was still a lot of work left to do. Mark and Alex together would help to create a comfortable place for Jamie among her family. Or at least they would stick up for her. The electronics store was crazy busy, but she worked her way through quickly, and even helped the poor girls who were stuck at the wrapping center. Within two hours, they had everything together. Jamie had them help load everything up, and she made her way back to the hospital. When she got there, she couldn't help but stop and admire Alex. He was in the middle of a large conference room, with the tree up and fully decorated. He was sitting in an old rocking chair, telling the story of Christmas to all the little ones gathered on the floor. The nurses and parents around the edge of the room seemed to be lost in the low, rhythmic sound of his voice too. He glanced up and winked at Jamie, which caused butterflies to surge in the pit of her stomach. They were never too terribly calm when Alex was around. Her phone buzzed, and she stepped out in the hall to take the call. "This is Jamie." "Hey, pumpkin. It's Dad." "Hi, Dad. What's going on?" She pressed her back to the wall and let her eyes move along the hall. Jeremy had been in the room behind her, which was good. She could talk to him and his wife a little while

later to check on their little girl. She hadn't seen anyone else from work, but it was probably a hush-hush situation. "Just making sure you're still coming over tomorrow night for dinner. You and two guests, right?" "We sure are. I'm looking forward to it." Jamie wrapped her free arm around herself, hoping to stay warm. Her outfit didn't help much, but she wasn't complaining. It was cute, it fit, and her sexy boyfriend thought enough about her to pick it out for her. Or thought of himself. Pervert. She smiled warmly. "Excellent. You guys don't need to bring anything. We're doing turkey and ham, and I'll be making your favorite cornbread dressing. Just like Granny Mae used to make for us." She could almost sense the longing in her dad's voice for her to be there now. "Perfect. We'll be over after breakfast tomorrow, Dad. I can help make the stuffing with you, just like we did when I was younger." "Really? I would love that." "Absolutely." The sound of clapping and laughter rose up behind her, and she turned in the open doorway to see Alex walking toward her. "I need to go, Dad. We're at the hospital giving out gifts to the children's ward." "Oh, nice. Your idea?" "Nope. Alex's." Jamie reached for him as he stopped in front of her, his eyebrow raised as if questioning who she was talking to. "That's even better. I'm glad you found a good man. I just hope he deserves you." "He does, Dad. It's me who might be a bit undeserving of such a good guy." She brushed his hair back and gazed up at him as recognition moved across his face, softening his features. "Yeah, right. Anyway... we'll see you tomorrow, pumpkin. I love you." "Love you too." Jamie pulled the phone from her ear and smiled. The words had once felt foreign to say over the phone, but she and her dad had somehow found their way back to each other… and he was

working on her mother and sister, so Jamie couldn’t complain one bit. "Looks like you have them captivated." "Yeah... too much maybe. Every woman in this room has hit on me ten times. I'm fucking glad you're back. Let's grab the gifts from the truck, and then we'll give them out and head home. I'm starving. Did we eat lunch?" He moved out of the open door and took her hand. "No, and breakfast was a muffin. We can make something good tonight." "Or pick up something from that Italian place you love." He glanced down at her. "That sounds even better." Jamie tightened her hand on his. "Now tell me who's been hitting on you again? I'll start handing out asswhoopings to the moms while you give the kids a great gift." He chuckled. "Just make sure none of them try to sit on my lap, please. I swear." She couldn't help but roll her eyes. He was far too handsome to be in the tight Santa suit, and yet his intentions were beyond good. Dr. Bennet met them at the door. "How's it going?" "Great, actually." Alex nodded toward the exit door. "Jamie has all of the presents in the truck. Do you have a few guys who can come out and help us?" "Absolutely. I'll grab some and meet you guys out there." "I like him. He seems like a good guy." Jamie squeezed Alex's hand as they walked out into the late snowy afternoon. "He's a great guy, and a brilliant surgeon. He's got an incredible staff here too. Their head of neurology is quite the genius. I've been at several of the award ceremonies where the man's won surgeon of the year." He shrugged and moved to the back of the truck. "Well, nice to know people when you need to, I guess." She slid her arms around him from behind and pressed her cheek to his back, enjoying the warmth he provided. Dr. Bennet came out a few seconds later with three guys in scrubs. They introduced themselves, and Alex turned to Jamie.
31/70
"This is Simon. He's the one I mentioned." He smiled at her. Jamie glanced over at Simon, a little taken aback by how goodlooking and young the surgeon was. "Nice to meet you. Alex says you're quite the surgeon." "I'm alright, but my wife is quickly catching up with me. Nothing like good clean fun at work." He chuckled and grabbed a large bag. "Wait, your wife works here too?" Jamie grabbed the smallest of the bags and walked in between Simon and Alex. "She sure does. It makes for an interesting life." Simon winked. Dr. Bennet turned and looked over his shoulder. "A bit too interesting at times." Simon laughed. “Your wife works here as well, Dr. Bennet. As does your father-in-law.” He laughed harder. “Isn’t this place named after him?” The laughter around her caused her lips to lift in a smile. It seemed as though the holidays brought along with them the invitation for everyone to generally be in a good mood. They lugged the presents back up to the conference room, and Alex worked beside Jamie to get them laid out by age group. Jamie stood and made a quick announcement, trying to get everyone's attention. "If you'll line up roughly by age, then we'll be able to give out the appropriate gifts to you. Thank you!" She put on her most cheerful voice. Jamie turned to see a beautiful blonde, who could have easily been the centerfold for a men’s magazine, talking with Alex. She had her finger in the middle of his chest and was giggling about something as he spoke. "Santa. Time to greet the kids." Jamie lifted an eyebrow at him. "Right. Excuse me, madam." He moved past the woman and shook his head. "I told you it was bad." "I'm going to go Christmas-crazy on someone if they don't back off of you," she growled and started to turn, but Alex pulled her against him.
32/70
"Did you guys know that Mrs. Claus sometimes dresses up like an elf just to have fun?" He glanced around and the kids cheered. "This is my Mrs. Claus. Tell her hi, kids." Everyone yelled 'Hi!' and Alex turned to Jamie, touching the side of her face and smiling. "I'm only yours, baby. Now everyone knows that." He leaned down and kissed her softly as the room erupted in ooos and ahhs. Warmth rushed up Jamie's chest and covered her cheeks as she walked behind her boss, her lover, her best friend. The blonde to her right smiled apologetically and mouthed, 'Sorry'. She nodded and moved to stand beside Alex as the kids started to make their way to sit on his lap. Most needed help, and some had to be picked up out of wheelchairs and given to him. By the time the event was over, Jamie was emotionally spent, and beyond blessed at the life she'd been given. "Can we do this every day?" she asked as Alex pulled her close just beside the truck. "Yes. We can do anything you want to do, Jamie." He leaned down and brushed his nose by hers. "I'm proud of you. You did a great thing today." She brushed her lips by his. "You make me want to be a good man." He kissed her again. "Well, sort of. Where the kids are concerned, yes. Where the little red slinky thing under this elf costume is concerned… hell, no." "Speaking of… Let's get home so you can open your present." He growled, and she giggled, the promise of a long night of passion on their minds.
Chapter 4 Jamie grabbed the Italian take-out from the backseat as they pulled up to the house. Her stomach had made its demands known half the way home, but Alex's hadn't been silent either. They burst out laughing at their gut conversation. She followed him to the door, letting her eyes move down the back of him to enjoy fully how good his red Santa pants hugged his perfect rear. He was one sexy Santa. "I'll grab a bottle of red wine. You get the food on plates, and I'll meet you at the coffee table in the living room. Sound good?" He glanced over his shoulder as he opened the door and then disarmed the house alarm. "The pasta has red sauce. I don't want to accidentally spill it on the floor on the living room carpet. Do you mind if we just eat at the kitchen table?" She moved past him as he flipped on the lights, purposely brushing his derrière with her hip. She giggled when he stumbled. He faced her and pouted. For a moment she thought it was because she’d bumped him. "But I want to snuggle down by the fire for dinner.” He winked mischievously. “If we mess up the carpet, I'll replace it. No worries." He popped her butt playfully and followed her into the kitchen. "I'm going to change. Do you want..." he paused as he tried to sneak a peek at what she was wearing below. She slapped his hands away and laughed. "No! I like this outfit.” She lowered her voice. “You promised to undress me… later." Sliding into his arms, she glanced up to study him more fully. His loving gaze had to be the first thing to catch her attention. He'd always been attentive and interested in her, though as her boss he’d kept it hidden, but the look had shifted significantly. He looked like a man in love. She just had a hard time swallowing the fact that the look was because of her – that it was just for her.
34/70
"Fine.” He grinned wickedly. “We'll just stay in this until dinner’s over. Then I'm going to take my time and make love to you the way you deserve to be made love to." He leaned down and pressed his lips to hers softly at first, and then with more passion as the kiss warmed them up. Jamie pulled back as her stomach let out another painful growl. "Food, then love-making." "Alright, but don't eat too much. I want to be the only thing stuffing you tonight." He lifted his eyebrow. "No. That was just horrible," she snorted, and laughed before turning to her task of putting their dinner on plates. She used to be so conscious about her weight, and now she could laugh and make fun of herself? She’d come a long way since last Christmas. "Really? I thought it was quite creative," he chuckled and moved to her side, working on opening a bottle of red wine. "You thought wrong." He laughed. "First time for everything, I guess." She rolled her eyes. "Dress you up like Santa, and you get all heady over it." "No, I'm heady over the fact that the best-looking woman in the world wants to spend the night with me." He reached for her playfully, but she pulled away from him and instead picked up their plates and hurried into the living room. "Not just the night. Forever." She turned before she could get a read on his reaction. They hadn't really talked about marriage, and she wanted to discuss it so damn bad, but some part of her felt like it was still too soon. It hadn’t even been a year since they'd met, and even less since they’d started dating, but she wanted him forever. At one point she was sure he would ask, but it had been a box with a key to his mansion. She’d just have to wait till he broached the subject. She smiled to herself; she wasn’t going anywhere in the meantime. After setting up their place settings and rearranging the coffee table, she slipped off her elf booties and got down on the floor.

Tucking her legs under her, she turned in time to watch him walk from the kitchen. The swell of his erection was far worse than it had been earlier, his cock having hardened and taken its place down the inside of his thigh. Seeing him like that left her a bit overwhelmed. He was a large guy, but something about the tight Santa suit made it even bigger. "Hey... eyes up here, woman." He set the wine down and dragged his fingers from his erection to his eyes, teasing her. She laughed and took her glass. "Just admiring your assets." "Good. I'll give you an up-close visit here shortly." He moved to sit down beside her and reached over, pulling her into a quick kiss. "I love you. Thank you for your help today. You were brilliant. Best thing to ever happen to me." Her chest constricted with the warmth of emotion that rolled over her. "I love you too." They ate for a few minutes and laughed over the various things that had happened during the day, just enjoying their time together. When they were done, Alex wiped his mouth on a napkin and leaned back against the couch. "My brother is coming in tomorrow?" He reached over and took Jamie's hand, lifting it to his lips and kissing her fingers softly as he watched her. A shiver raced through her, and she moved closer, leaving the rest of her dinner untouched. "Yeah. He should be here around ten, I think. I figured we could have breakfast ready, and then head over to see my parents. I assume you and Mark are coming with me?" She was hopeful, and had already planned to have them beside her, though she really hadn't asked. "You want us there?" Alex scooted even closer and wrapped his arms around her. "Yes, I do." She leaned in and touched the side of his face. "I think it’ll make things a lot easier."
36/70
"Then we'll be there." He kissed her softly. "It's cold in here. Right?" "Yeah, a little chilly. Start us a fire, and I'll take this stuff to the kitchen." "Perfect." He kissed her again before moving back and crawling toward the fire on his hands and knees. He sat back on his heels, and damn if he didn't look like a little boy trying to look grown up. How a man could be so damn cute and sexy at the same time was beyond Jamie. She shook her head, gathered up their dishes, and walked into the kitchen, a little overwhelmed with gratefulness again. The Christmas before had been a disaster of epic proportions. Not only had Steven left her for Christine, but her car had broken down for the last time, and she’d had to move into her parents’ basement. She’d been broke, and miserable, and so alone. "Wow. Things can change so drastically in the blink of an eye." She put the dishes in the sink and tugged off her little elf hat as she walked back to join Alex. "You say something, baby?" he asked, looking over his shoulder and scooting over to make room for her in front of the fireplace. "Just thinking out loud about how much my life has changed. Last Christmas was horrible, but this one is already the best I've ever had." She took the hand he offered, and sat beside him. He leaned over and kissed her cheek before getting back to starting the fire. "Same here. I honestly figured one day I'd end up marrying some rich bitch who wanted my money and very little of my time. I thought that's how it worked for guys like me, but coming from poor beginnings, I knew it was a damn lie I kept feeding myself." “I might be that bitch who’s just after your money and soon won’t want any of your time, except for sex. I’ll use you and abuse you.” Alex burst out laughing. “It’s not that funny,” she said, chuckling herself.
37/70
“Jamie, you are so far from that kind of person!” He leaned forward and nibbled her neck before leaning back. “You’re like an angel.” “Angel in an elf outfit?” She shook her head. “You’re pretty amazing yourself, you know?” Jamie leaned back, sliding her hands behind her as she stretched her legs out. "I think having someone beside you who you not only trust, but honestly, truly love, has to be the greatest gift ever." He brushed off his hands and moved back to his hands and knees. Crawling over the top of her, he lined his body up with hers and kissed her a few times. "I couldn't agree more. You're quickly becoming everything to me." He moved off her to lie on his side just beside her. "Come lay like this with me. I want to feel you." Jamie obeyed immediately, wanting to be pressed against the front of the handsome, buff Santa Claus. She chuckled at the thought and moved onto her side, facing him. He reached out with his free hand and brushed her hair back behind her ear. "What are you giggling about now, beautiful girl?" "Just the fact that I'm getting turned on by Santa Claus," she chuckled again. His smile was sexy and a little naughty. "You think it's hot, actually." Soft fingertips brushed the side of her thigh, dragging her dress with them. Alex leaned up a little, glancing down the line of her body and letting out a groan. "Fuck, that's so hot." He pulled her in closer, forcing her leg to drape over his legs. The thickness of his erection rubbed along her thigh, and she was done playing around. It was a romantic moment, but after watching him prance around all day in the tight red suit that left little to the imagination, she wanted him violently. Pushing at his chest until he rolled over onto his back, Jamie moved up to straddle him. His hands massaged her thighs and played with the straps of her garter as she worked on the buttons of his Santa

jacket. She opened the soft felt and slid her hands against his skin, scraping him with her nails a little before leaning over and replacing her hands with her mouth. He jerked and groaned as her teeth encircled his nipple. "Fuck, Jamie." "Exactly. I want to," she purred softly as she moved up to his neck, licking and kissing him as he played with the edge of her panties along her rear. "Then get me out of these damn pants and you can take what's yours." He turned his face toward hers and slid his free hand into her hair, pulling her in for a long, hot kiss. She rocked against him, rubbing herself over the thickness of his cock. Remembrance of him buried deep inside her during their mid-morning escapade swept through her vision, and her body reacted. "But they look so good on you," she teased him playfully as she moved down his body and tugged the pants and his black boxer-briefs off of him. She stood while he worked his arms out of his jacket, and she took off her elf dress. The little red see-through lace teddy under it left hardly any of her covered. He let out a long groan. "Turn around slowly and let me see you." She half expected nervousness to overwhelm her, but it didn't. It was the difference in knowing that the man lying at her feet actually loved her, not just desiring the pleasure she could provide. Turning slowly, she slid her hands over her hips and upper thighs over and over, wanting to tease him mercilessly. "Enough," he barked and sat up, reaching up and clasping his hands on the back of her thighs. He pressed his face to her center and breathed deeply. The sound of hungry appreciation that left him almost broke her in two. "Come ride me." He laid back down and took his cock in his grasp, pumping it slowly as he watched her. "All I want for Christmas is you." "I know the feeling all too well." She slid her panties down her thighs and moved toward him, only to have him stop her.
39/70
"No. I want you completely naked. I love the way this thing looks on you, but I want to feel your skin against mine. Come here and I'll take it off of you." He reached for her, pulling her down to straddle him again. Jamie lowered herself onto him, pressing the wet warmth of her body to the hardness of his. He worked to get the top off of her as she slid along his length, working herself toward orgasm with the deliciousness of their contact. He chucked the dress behind them and left the garter and stockings on as he reached up to palm her breasts. "That's it, Ms. Connors. Work yourself against it. Tell me when you're about to come, and I'll slide in and fuck you right over the edge." His words did it for her. She nodded, unable to speak as a fire erupted in the center of her stomach. "Now," she whimpered, unable to find the depths of her voice. Alex grabbed her hips tightly and shifted her as he pressed himself deep inside of her. The sound that ripped from her was guttural and needy. "There you go. Fuck!" He tightened his grip on her hips as she began to take from him exactly what she needed to ride the high all the way through. She slowed as the orgasm dissipated, her breathing off, and her hips still rolling rhythmically. "Shit, I love you!" She smiled helplessly. "Me too. You're so beautiful. I love how you take what you need. Anything you want from me, Jamie... it's yours." He slid his hands up to hold onto her waist as he carefully rolled them, leaving her on her back and him between her legs. She wrapped her legs around him and reached up to wrap her arms around his neck. He pressed into her hold and worked himself into her again, deeper this time. Pressing his lips to hers, he emulated the sex they had with the thick pumping of his tongue into her mouth.
40/70
Jamie whimpered at the hot deliciousness of his abilities, and sucked hard at his tongue as he made love to her body. They gave and took from each other throughout the night, each of them reaching the peak of orgasm three or four times. By the time they were done, the fire had gone out, and Alex had gotten up to get them blankets and pillows. Jamie moved back to press her back against his front as he wrapped his strong arm around her. Completely sated, and lost to the unbelief that someone as great as him would even consider her, she started to drift off into sleep. "Merry Christmas, baby," he mumbled against her skin. "Merry Christmas," she whispered and tightened her arm around his as he held her. "Did you mean what you said earlier?" Jamie reached up and covered her mouth as she let out a long yawn. "Mean what?" "That you wanted forever with me?" He nuzzled the side of her neck and tightened his grip around her. "Absolutely. You're all I want." She closed her eyes, wishing she could have heard what his response was, but their day had been too long, and she was too tired to keep her eyes open anymore.
Chapter 5 Christmas Day
Jamie woke the next morning to find Alex gone already. A smile touched her lips, and she snuggled under the covers further, letting the memories they’d made the night before rush across the back of her eyelids. He was such a generous lover, and for the few moments where he slipped into carnality, and took for himself, she was delighted. His body was made for sex, but his heart for love. He was the full package, the one she wanted to spend the rest of her life getting to know. It was almost too much to hope that he would feel the same toward her, but he seemed to. The fact that they both had changed so much in the last ten months meant something. He was jolly. She giggled as she thought of his Santa costume again. But he was happy, and he was working on his relationship with Mark, due in part to her, but he wasn't the only one who was changing. She wanted a clean slate with her own family. She waited a few minutes before realizing Alex wasn't coming back any time soon. After getting out of the warmth of the blankets, she walked into his large walk-in closet and stretched, yawning loudly. He must have moved them to the bed sometime during the night, though she couldn't remember when. Grabbing one of his plain white button-down shirts, she slipped it over her shoulders and buttoned it up. Jamie stopped by the bathroom to check herself and couldn't help but smile. A year ago she'd never have gone out to greet a guy with her hair a mess and her lips swollen like they were. She'd have taken a shower, fixed herself up, and tried to cover all the signs of their love-making. Alex left her feeling beautiful, adored – loved. It changed everything.
42/70
Walking out into the living room, Jamie paused and glanced around. "Alex?" He didn't answer, and she walked around the house looking everywhere for him, but found it empty. Slipping on a pair of jeans and some outside boots that Alex had sitting on the back porch, she walked down to her old place to get the present she wanted to give her new beau for Christmas. He didn't want anything that money could buy. Of that she was sure. Not only did he have everything, but he had mentioned it far too many times over the last few months that she wasn't to spend any money. None. She sat down at her kitchen table with a pad of Christmassy paper and a pen, and tapped her lips with the writing instrument a few times. Having been gifted with words, she tried to decide between a poem and a song, or maybe a letter. He would be back soon, and they were welcoming Mark in a couple of hours. How she was up so early after spending the night having the best sex of her life, she had no idea. "A letter might work best." She pursed her lips and started to write, quickly filling up three pages of how much he meant to her. He'd given her back her confidence, her belief in something better and bigger than settling, and her heart. He needed to know more now than ever that she was completely sold out for him. She got up and walked to her jewelry box at the back of the studio apartment and pulled out a small white rock with the world 'believe' engraved on it. Her father had given it to her when she was six. It was one of the most precious things she still had from her childhood. It seemed a little silly, but she couldn't shake the fact that it was supposed to be Alex's now. She tucked it into a piece of white paper and put the letter with it in a small Christmas bag. After checking out the apartment to make sure everything was ready for Mark's visit, she walked back up to the house and kicked off the boots.

Slipping out of her jeans, she left the gift sitting on the coffee table and went into the kitchen to start working on a big breakfast. Alex loved to eat, and one thing she’d learned was that breakfast was his favorite. The back door open and the sound of him verbally shivering caught her attention. "Jamie? You up?" he called out to her. "Yeah. I'm starting on breakfast." She cracked three eggs into the frying pan and figured he would come into the kitchen with her. When he didn't, she stuck her head into the living room. He was sitting at the couch, her letter in his hand and his head turned down as if reading it. "Oh. That's from me." She walked toward him and chided herself. As if he was too dumb to realize the damn gift was from her. She was the only one in the house. He stood and rolled the stone in his hand. She didn't notice the tears in his eyes until he glanced up. "I love it." "Oh, shoot, Alex. I didn't mean to upset you. I just wanted you to know that you've given me my life back. Or a life really." She moved toward him and unbuttoned his jacket before sliding the snow-laced coat from his big shoulders. "You've done the same for me." He slipped the stone into his pocket and pulled her into a warm hug. "I'll carry it everywhere. I wanted to always be reminded to believe in the impossible. That's what's happened between us. I thought I would just settle, and I see now that you thought you would too. But we don't have to." "No. We don't. I hope it's enough. It's not much." Jamie adverted her eyes as she questioned the value of the gift. He pulled her against him tightly and pressed his cold lips to her, showing her that it wasn't about the amount of money spent. He kissed her long and deep, exploring her mouth as if getting to do it for the first time.

She slipped her warm hands under his sweater and rubbed the thick muscles of his back, reveling in how good his skin felt against her hands. "Oh, fuck." She jerked back as the smell of burnt eggs caught her attention. She raced to the kitchen and pulled the black mass from the stove, running it toward the back door. "Jamie," he called after her as he followed her, but she didn't stop until she was standing on the patio. A little furry brown puppy turned from where he was tied to the porch, and looked up at her before tilting his little head to the side. She set the pan on the ground at the edge of the patio, away from the little guy, and let out a soft sound of adoration. "So freakin’ cute! Alex! Come check this out!" She sank to her knees and picked up the fur-ball, snuggling him against her chest. "Oh, I love him. Whose do you think he is?" Alex wrapped his strong arms around her from behind and kissed the side of her face. "Yours. Merry Christmas." "What?" She turned in his arms as tears blurred her gaze. "Are you kidding me? I've wanted a dog for years." "Really? I kinda always wanted one too. Just never figured I was home enough to take care of one. Then I figured we could manage between the two of us. So I spent the past two months trying to find the right one. He was a stray at the pound, and they called this morning. I was on a wait list." "So are we just foster caring for him?" Her smile drooped as the little pup started to lick her chin and neck. "I can't do that, Alex. I'll fall in love." She glanced down as tears rolled over her cheeks. "I already have." "Baby." He wrapped her up tightly against him, pressing his lips to the top of her head and breathing in deeply. “He's not just here for Christmas. He's here for good. He's yours for the rest of your life... If you'll have him."
45/70
Something about his words hit her deep inside her chest. "I want him forever." "Good. Something tells me that once you picked him up and pulled him close to you, that you'd have no choice. He wasn't going anywhere anyways." He smiled and touched her chin, leaning down and pressing his lips to hers. "Best Christmas ever." "Agreed, now you take Jake, and I'll go try again on these eggs." She handed off the little bundle. Alex moved down to untangle the puppy’s leash. "Jake? You've named him already?" "I'm efficient if nothing else." She brushed her hair down the back of her head and left him to deal with the dog. The smile on her face was nothing compared to the warmth that pumped through her. Getting a dog together was like another step in their relationship. It would help them see how well they would do as parents if that was ever to be the case. *** Jamie finished loading the dishwasher after breakfast and walked to the living room, wanting to join Alex on the couch. Jake was snuggled up on the floor beside him, making small mewling noises as his little legs moved back and forth. "What do you think he's chasing?" Jamie asked, sitting down next to the handsome man who'd stolen her heart more times than she could count. "Probably a hot girl. Good thing I've got the hottest one in the world." He turned and wrapped his arms around her before pressing a hot kiss to the side of her neck. "What time is it? I want to see what's under this shirt." "You've already seen it. All night last night." She pushed at him playfully before crawling into his lap. “Mark’ll be here soon.” She straddled him, loving the way she fit against him so well. His long-
46/70
sleeved t-shirt and jeans left him looking comfortable, and yet still so GQ. The man was beyond fine. Nothing was going to diminish that. "And I want to see it again." He slid his hands up her thighs and over her naked hip, up to her breasts. He squeezed softly as his eyes moved up to lock onto hers. "Hell, woman! You turn me on. I could get hard just watching you make scrambled eggs. What the hell, Jamie? You’ve turned me into a horny CEO." "I don't know how, but I like it a lot." Jamie rolled her hips, rubbing herself against him. He lifted one hand to his mouth and slipped his thumb in, half smiling around his lips. He tugged the white shirt she wore up and cupped her naked mound as he pressed his thumb into her. "Ride my hand and come for me. I wanna see the expression on your pretty face when you reach your peak. Make this my best memory of Christmas." He pulled her down for a long kiss as she groaned and rocked against his hand. It didn't take long and she was close. He pushed at her shoulder softly, forcing her to sit up as he continued to work her. Jamie let her eyes lock on to the needy look on his face as his watched both the sex and her face, as if in anticipation of what was to come. Namely her. "I can feel how close you are. Bounce on it. Take it." He reached up and pinched at her nipple through the shirt as he worked his hand against her, deliciously fast. She groaned as the orgasm started, and let her head drop back. His hand wrapped around her chin and forced her to sit back up. "I wanna see, Jamie." "Then fucking see," she bit out as she let herself dive into the deep end of pleasure with him. He was incredible, and she reveled in every subtle twitch of his hand on her. "That's it, girl. So fucking hot. So wickedly hot." He continued his assault until she pulled back, letting out a long groan.
47/70
"Fuck! You’re amazing." He pulled her down for a long kiss as he fondled her naked rear. Jamie jerked up as the front door open, and Mark's deep voice echoed down the hall. "Ho! Ho! Ho! Get up you hoes. It's Christmas." "Oh, fuck." Jamie scrambled up, tripping over the coffee table and running to the bedroom before Mark could make it into the living room. She closed the door quietly and turned, pressing her back against it and trying to catch her breath. They'd gotten so wrapped up in each other she hadn’t noticed the time. After forcing her heart to slow a little, she changed clothes, pulled her hair into a ponytail, and walked out into the living room. Alex was kneeling in front of the dog, but glanced back at her with a naughty smile on his handsome face. "That was a close one. Almost exciting." "Not at all exciting. Where's your brother?" Jamie slipped her hands into her jeans pockets and glanced around. "He's putting his stuff in the apartment." Alex stood. "I shook his hand with my sexy fingers and he looked a little concerned; told me it smelled like sex in here." "No, the fuck he did not!" Jamie's heart almost stopped as all color fled her face. "I'm kidding, Jamie." He pulled her close and kissed her. "I'm just kidding. He didn't say anything, and you'll be happy to know that I behaved myself." "You better had." "Or?" He lifted his eyebrow and tightened his hold on her. "You gonna spank me?" "Nope. You'd like that far too much." She nipped at his lips and turned as the back door opened and Mark walked in. "How's my favorite should-be sister-in-law?" he chuckled and walked toward them.
48/70
Jamie pulled from Alex and gave his brother a big hug. "Good, and glad to see you." "Need me to talk some sense into my older bro?" He gave her a big bear hug and picked her up off the floor. "I mean, really, if he's not going to make a move... I sure will." "Watch it," Alex grumbled playfully and tugged Jamie from Mark's hold. "Your eggs are on the back porch. Jamie made them special for you." Jamie swatted at Alex, and glanced over her shoulder. "No, they aren't. Come in here, and I'll make you anything you want." Alex growled again, and Jamie couldn't help but let his possessiveness remind her that she wasn't the only one in love. He was too.
Chapter 6 After wrapping all the gifts for Jamie's family and almost driving Alex crazy, they loaded the Lexus and headed over to her family's house. Mark got in the front next to Alex, but only after making sure it was okay with Jamie about ten times. She laughed at him and got in the backseat, enjoying the feeling of instant family when she was around him. The silly little evergreen tree hat he wore was decorated with lights and little bulb ornaments. Alex thought it was ridiculous, but Jamie loved it. "Stop being so jealous." Mark popped Alex in the chest as he pulled out of the driveway. "You can have the damn tree hat, okay?" Alex chuckled sardonically. "I don’t want the damn hat! It makes you look more like the oaf that you are more than you can even imagine." He eyed the hat out of the corner of his eye. “Plus it doesn’t match my tie.” “Or suit,” Mark added laughing. "You’re just jealous. Right, Jamie?" He turned around and wagged his eyebrows. Jamie raised her hands. “You’re not dragging me into this. Alex dressed up as Santa yesterday and handed gifts out to the sick kids at Scott Thompson Hospital. He’s got one up on you.” “You donated the gifts as well?” Alex nodded. “Jamie’s idea?” Mark tilted his head slightly, reminding Jamie that the two of them were definitely brothers. "Totally.” She swatted Alex playfully on the back of his neck. “Not at all; it was all him.” She nudged Mark. “You'll have to get Alex to tell you what happened to our Christmas tree." She pressed her fingers to her lips as Alex pulled the rearview mirror down and gave her a look. "Really? You’re going to go down that road?" Alex smiled, but had a warning look on his handsome face.
50/70
"Yes, really. What happened?" Mark turned his attention on Alex. "Come on. Spill." "Jamie wanted a really big tree, so I got it, but I told her a million damn times that the damn thing wasn't going to fit into the house. You know how women are, though... just think they know everything," Alex chuckled, unable to get any more of the tall tale out. "Lies!" Jamie yelled from the backseat and moved up, reaching around Alex and tickling his sides. "It's all lies." Mark chuckled. "So Alex wanted a huge tree and it didn't fit, right?" "Exactly." Jamie glanced over at Mark. "He did that as a kid once, too. Depth perception and measuring issues." Mark shrugged as Alex pinned him with the warning stare. "What? Shit, it’s true." "Whatever." Alex shrugged. "Tell him what we did with the tree, my beautiful gal. Redeem me a little here." "We took it to the hospital for the kids, and that’s where Alex played Santa." Jamie beamed, unable to help herself. Mark pulled the hat from his head and extended it to Alex. "For being such a good guy, I guess I'll give up my hat so that you'll have some kind of tree in your house. Jeez. First Christmas and you don't even give your girl a tree." Alex popped his brother in the chest and rolled down the window, throwing the hat out as Jamie and Mark yelled at him playfully. "That was ten dollars at the airport! Jeez." Mark sank back into his seat as if upset. "I'll get you another one." Jamie turned to let her eyes move across the sad display of Christmas lights her father had on their house as they pulled up. He wasn't much for decorating, but he'd tried from what she could tell. "I need to redo these lights for your dad, Jamie." Alex turned and lifted his eyebrow at her. “Someone’s going to trip over the wires. Or they’ll fall if the wind blows.”
51/70
"I'll help. Sounds fun." Mark got out of the car and walked to the front. Jamie moved ahead of them and rang the doorbell. "Come say hi to everyone first, and then you guys can disappear out here and do it for him. I'm sure he’d love that. It's always just been us girls. We're little to no help." She wondered if Stephen and Christine would be here. She assumed yes, but she still preferred to avoid Stephen whenever possible. She didn’t like him, and still couldn’t believe she’d actually dated the guy, and now had to act all happy that he was married to her sister. "Why’re you ringing the doorbell?" Mark moved up beside her and lifted on his toes, plucking the key from on top of the door frame. She took it from him and put it back. "Because the last time I pulled that trick, I got to witness my parents having nasty make-up sex on the couch." Mark and Alex cringed. "Oh shit," Alex mumbled. "Just ring the bell. We're in no hurry." Jamie laughed and turned her attention to the door as her father opened it. "Pumpkin!" He pulled her into a warm hug before meeting Mark and talking with Alex for a few minutes. Jamie disappeared into the house, looking for her mother and sister. It was the first year that she felt some tingle of excitement over seeing everyone. She’s even put up with her brother-in-law. The sound of Stephen and her sister arguing in the back room caused her to pause. She didn't want to get into the middle of that mess, but promised herself that once the holidays were over she would pull Christine aside and talk to her about her marriage. Something was off, and she could see the physical effects of it on her sister. It was heartbreaking to say the least, and yet they all knew Stephen was an ass. "Mom?" Jamie called out and moved into the kitchen. "In the pantry." Her mom stuck her head out of the open door to the large walk-in pantry. "Just looking for cinnamon for the sweet

potatoes. I can't find it anywhere, but my glasses would help, no doubt." Jamie laughed and joined her mom in the pantry. “Jamie! I believe you’ve lost more weight.” She tilted her head. “You look… happy.” Her mother absently picked a piece of lint of Jamie’s shoulder. “Sticking to that diet? Or has your boss got you running around like a headless chicken?” Jamie ignored the comment and turned her attention to the spice rack. "What’re we having today?" "Always about food, isn’t it?” “Mom! A very Merry Christmas to you too!” Her mother blinked and then her eyes went big. “Sorry, honey. I just worry you’re going to put that weight back on. You’ve worked so hard to lose it. I like you as you are now. Healthy and happy." “It’s not going to change.” Jamie gritted her teeth and forced a long breath out through her nose. “What are we having?” She stared at the spice rack, preferring to look at thyme, salt, and whatever else other than her mother. “We're having everything, but instead of me doing the turkey, of course you know Alex had one ordered." She didn’t sound that impressed. "What?" Jamie looked over her shoulder as she handed her mother the spice they'd been looking for. "Yeah. Alex spoke to your dad a few weeks ago and said he wanted to give his personal chef the chance to make some money today. The only way the guy would take a check was if he cooked, so Alex gave him a turkey to make for us. Should be here any minute." Her mom shrugged and walked out of the pantry. Jamie left in search of her handsome boyfriend, wanting to tell him how sweet he was. Her mother might not like giving up her kitchen for someone else, but tough. It was sweet of Alex on so many levels. His giving seemed endless all of a sudden, and the thought of where she
53/70
could have ended up versus where she did was almost too much to handle. A door slammed to her right, and Jamie paused as Christine walked toward her. Her sister was trying hard not to cry, and failing miserably. "Hey." Jamie moved down the hall, not sure what to expect. Christine didn't stop until she wrapped Jamie in a hug and let out a short cry. "I'm so sorry for what I did this last year. I hate this bastard so much. You should hate me like I hate him. Can you ever forgive me? Please?" Her sister’s whole body shook as she cried against Jamie's shoulder. "Yeah, already done, remember?" Jamie returned the hug, trying to let the good memories of when they were really little be the future foundation of her memories where Christine were concerned. They could build their relationship from the place it was at currently. Jamie found herself wanting to. "I'm sorry for being a hot mess." Christine pulled back and wiped at her eyes. "I just hate him." "Then leave his ass in there all day, and let’s have fun." She touched the side of her sister's face. "Go help Mom before she ruins the sweet potatoes. She's lost her glasses again." “I could use a glass of something and get lost in it.” Christine nodded and let out a short laugh before turning and walking toward the kitchen. Jamie walked to the front to find Mark and Alex finishing up on restringing the lights. "You guys want a drink?" she asked as she pressed her hand to her forehead and moved in beside her father. He wrapped his strong arm around her shoulder and squeezed her against his side. "Good guy you've got here." "I think so." She turned and smiled up at her dad. "Whisky?" Alex turned and looked down from the highest point on the roof.
54/70
"Beer for me, please." Mark waved. "Please be careful. I like you both a lot." Jamie shook her head and leaned against her dad. "I'm worried about Christine." "No need to worry. Your sister’s strong-willed. Nobody walks over her unless she lets them. She'll figure it out. She's got too much of your momma in her not to." He leaned over and kissed the top of her head. "Are you and Mom doing okay? Still going good?" "Better than ever, Pumpkin. She's a good woman, and I'm grateful for another chance at spending my life with the woman I married. She’s still rough around the edges, but, then again, so am I." He grinned as he stepped back. "I'll take a whisky, too, if you're pouring drinks." "That I am." She turned and walked back to the house, beginning to feel grateful for the way things were turning out. Her mother was working on being nice, and at least she was getting along with her father. Her sister's situation would get resolved, but it wouldn't be that easy. Stephen was an ass and a half, and yet without him, Jamie never would have met Alex. She finished pouring the drinks as the boys joined them in the dining room. Alex made a beeline for Jamie and pulled her into a hug, leaning down to kiss her a few times. "What was that for?" she asked. "Just grateful I didn't die up there. Remind me next time I try to play the hero that I hate heights." He winked and took a long drink from his glass. Jamie's mom appeared in the open doorway of the dining room and lifted a bottle of red wine. "I think we're almost ready. Anyone want red or white with dinner?" A resounding ‘both!’ went around the room as the doorbell rang. "That's probably Murray. I'll get it." Alex walked toward the door as Jamie sank down into the chair nearest the Christmas tree. She reached out and touched several of the ornaments from her childhood, reliving part of it with each one of them.
55/70
Alex returned, carrying a huge turkey that looked to still be smoking. "Make way for the main attraction." His voice was strained, and muscles flexed. Hot. So damn hot. Jamie nearly laughed out loud when her sister mumbled the same thing. She glanced out the window to see Stephen marching to his car, his face angry. He pulled onto the road and sped away. She wondered if she should tell Christine, and decided maybe leaving it for now was better. "Let's help get everything on the table." Jamie stood up and motioned for Mark and Christine to join them. Alex's brother seemed to have taken an instant liking to Jamie's sister, but Mark was a friendly guy regardless of who was involved. However, now was not the time to put the moves on her sister. She doubted Mark would, but Christine, on the other hand… you never knew what she was after till she sank her teeth into something, or someone. After getting everything on the table, Jamie took the chair between Alex and his brother, feeling good, warm, and safe between them. Her father prayed and then everyone started to pass around the various dishes. "Alright. While we eat, we have a family tradition," Jamie's mother started. "Everyone has to tell one thing that they were blessed by this last year." "Oh, that's easy." Jamie's father reached over and took his wife's hand. "I'm blessed that we worked things out. I love you more now than I did the day we were married." Her mother fanned her face as tears filled her eyes. "Dammit. You're making me get all emotional, but I guess that has to be mine too. Between fixing things with you, my baby’s wedding, and Jamie getting a boyfriend, my life feels better. Right." That was as sweet as her mother was going to be. She was far from perfect, but that was as close to saying I love you that Jamie was going to get. Jamie reached and pressed her napkin to her eyes. "Darn you both! You stole my thunder."
56/70
Alex laughed and slid his hand down Jamie's leg. "I'm grateful for meeting Jamie, falling in love with her, and for the reconciliation she brought to me and Mark. I have her to thank for every bit of it." Jamie popped him in the chest as a soft sob left her. "My turn!" Mark piped up. "I'm grateful for all of that, but even more so that my older brother, who I've looked up to my whole life, just offered me the apartment on his property and a job at his firm. I'll be moving here in a month or so. Grateful for him saving my ass." Jamie turned and let out a soft yelp of excitement as tears continued to roll down her cheeks. "Are you shitting me?" "Jamie!" Her mother chided as she lifted her glass of wine to her lips. "I'm not sh—teasing you." Mark glanced Jamie’s mom and then winked at her as they all started laughing. Christine's voice was soft, but caught Jamie's attention. "I don't feel like I have a lot to be grateful for, but funnily enough, I'm grateful for the realization that I haven’t always been the nicest person, especially to Jamie. Mom’s thankful I got married, but it was a lot of work – the wedding and after. Maybe by feeling the effects of someone hurting me, it woke me up to who I had become. I'm grateful for reconciliation and for people being good to me, even when I didn't deserve it." She raised her glass. “Thanks for second chances.” “Hell, yeah!” Mark whistled and raised his glass beside Christine’s. "Dammit, you guys!" Jamie started crying harder, but managed to lift her glass toward the center of the table. "I’m far from perfect, but I'm grateful for this life, which includes each and every one of you. " Everyone threw in their agreement as the glasses clinked against one another in perfect harmony. *** Jamie motioned for Alex to stop the Lexus near an old ice rink, that used to be a mainstay at the edge of a little country town they were

traveling through. It was rarely used anymore, but the memories of her dad taking her there flooded her. Mark had decided to spend the afternoon watching football with Jamie's dad and sister, which was awkward, and yet not. Mark never met a stranger, and Jamie had no doubt that he would be a quick fixture over at her parents’ house now that he was moving in with her and Alex. "What is it?" Alex reached over and took her hand. "Just a memory. Can we get out for a minute? I just want to see if the old pond my dad taught me to ice skate on is still here." She gave him a hopeful look. "Of course. You can have anything you want. You know that." "Anything?" She smiled nefariously. "On second thoughts, it's too cold out there. Let's get you home and let me warm you up by the fire." He wagged his eyebrows at her. "Yeah, that does sound better." She glanced out at the frosty setting before her. "Besides... it's best to leave the past in the past." "When you have such a bright future ahead? I couldn't agree more." He brought her hand to his mouth and kissed her fingers softly. "Thank you for my gift this morning. It's the best one I've ever gotten." "What? It wasn't much, really." "Sure it was. It was your heart. That's all I've wanted since meeting you." She took a shaky breath and nodded. "It's all yours for sure." "And mine is yours.” His lips brushed softly against hers and she imagined their two heads pressed close together to form a heart. She loved him, and had a hard time remembering what her life had been like before she met him. “Merry Christmas, Ms. Connors." "Merry Christmas, Mr. Reid." She smiled against his mouth, sure she had never been happier than in this moment.
