Special guest speaker MR MICHAEL BURN Staffing – Over last 6 months 2 supervisors have left and 1 is leaving. Replacements any further on!! Expecting the staff to work harder to cover shifts so why is there still no replacements?? Overtime appears to be expected of certain people! You come across as quite annoyed and adjitated when people refuse! Most of time that is your staff helping you out! It is your job to find staff not the engineers. Also OVERTIME IS NOT COMPULSERY Holiday – it is a manager’s job to sort out cover they MANAGE MEN not the Engineer Electricians – it is against the law for unqualified staff to enter panel and no training appears to be planned it now just seems to be expected when it suits. Other times engineers are not allowed to even wire motor electricians are called in??? Electrician only paid for what they do! There should be a call out fee and should be paid for a minimum amount of hours. Contractors – standard of work is terrible yellow racking in yard isn’t even square and straight the pipe rolls off unless wedged. They also are very good talking about Biffa engineers badly to other Biffa engineers but are ok to turn up with no welder rods etc and borrow ours. Tool allowance – We fix biffa machinery with mainly our own tools it should be minimum we get a tool allowance for breakages. YOU GET PAID FOR THE BAILS!! Oil and greasers – promised qualifications but still nothing yet, but have been expected unqualified to look after the whole plant by themselves? Lock off procedures – why are engineering expected to write one for every job yet production don’t?? We are never asked opinions on anything we spend more time on the plant then our manager but seem and feel to be treat like idiots at times. Our opinion means nothing
