Hello, everyone. My name is Danni García. I’m a lifelong resident of London, UK-born born and bred here. I’m working to achieve my dream of getting a master’s degree, and I’m delighted to be in BLED 514, Multicultural Education.
The area of multicultural education has been a long-term long interest of mine. It began when I got my job as an English teacher at a school in London, where I have worked for ten years. I hope to deepen my understanding of the subject during this term.
This is not my first foray into higher education. I have a bachelor’s degree in English which I finished in 2000. It’s quite a shock to go back to university and jump right into master’s level courses.
My passion is basketball. I used to play every day but I don’t have time now. I have two great kids who are my world and keep me going. Lily, who’s five, is the oldest and Justin, who’s three, is the baby of the family. My wife is a paediatrician and she’s e’s also from London. We met ten t years ago when we were hiking separately parately and I got lost and she rescued me! I’m looking forward to participating in this class. Good luck everyone!
RULES FOR A GOOD PROFILE To what extend does Danny Garcia’s profile follow them?
Share positive things. Keep it short: condense rather than using very long sentences. Choose specific details and examples, not generalisations. Don’t lie, boast or exaggerate. Keep it informal and friendly. 1

NOW it’s your turn. Write your personal Profile for a job application. Follow the tips: When you write, always remember your audience. Who will read your work? What do you expect (think about content, length, formality)? What do they know about the topic? Visualize your readers and imagine how they will react to your piece.
FIRST STEP: Write a draft. Write a quick draft following the outline of a personal profile for a job application as an example. Introduction: name and where I’m from.
Interests: love children, music, dance. Skills: play guitar, drawing, costume-making. Experience: worked as a summer volunteer in Bournemouth Children’s Centre, 2010. Goals for the future: run a nursery for 2-4-year-olds. Brainstorm your ideas. Organize the ideas and make clear paragraphs (paragraph = P // idea = i).

Introduce link words and expressions. At this level, good quality vocabulary is very important. Check your draft and see if you can improve it with adjectives and idioms. You can use the vocabulary on page 12 and 13. Check verb tenses and subjects.
LAST STEP: Re-write the composition very carefully. Check your writing for mistakes.
