Elias Guesthouse, Téglás, Hungary 02.04 – 10.04.2016
Dear Partners, We are gladly inform you that our youth exchange project Should I stay or should I go has been approved! You can find a lot of information in this document, read it carefully. If I missed something, ask me. And please start to organize your group and begin to prepare for the project.
1. BASIC INFORMATION: ACTIVITY DATES: 02.04. – 10.04. 2016 LOCATION: HUNGARY, Téglás PARTICIPATING COUNTRIES: Slovakia, Poland, United Kingdom, Hungary TEAM NUMBER: 5 participants + 1 group leader (24 youngster) AGE: 18-25 THE TOPIC OF EXCHANGE: These days, unfortunately youngsters have to experience unemployment more and more. We can see all over Europe that there isn’t enough job opportunities, youngsters who don’t have any job experience start at the labor market in a disadvantaged position. But recently many youngsters speak foreign languages, and because of this, the countries in the European Union are opening up to them. They think about the „Should I stay or should I go?” question. During our project we want the youngsters to argue the advantages and disadvantages of working abroad. The participants will examine every side of working in their country or abroad through directional arguments and discussions. The topic of the youngsters’ unemployment itself isn’t an innovative topic, but our aim is that the youngsters before career decisions and working life get to know the dangers, negative effects and advantages, positive effects of working abroad. We also want the participants to become acquainted with other youngsters’ opinion about this topic, think together and get an insight on other countries’ labor market situation. They can get information about certain member countries’ main economic and labor market trends. In our youth exchange six youngsters (five participants and a group leader) will participate from four countries (Hungary, Slovakia, Spain, UK). The program is placed in Elias Guesthouse, Téglás.

Every nation will get an energizer block. Cooking is not part of the intercultural nights. There will be 2 evenings when the four groups
(in pairs, so 2 countries/evening) will have the opportunity to cook some traditional meal and eat it together. While they are cooking, the other two groups will think about games to play. It is important to make enough just to taste the meal, you do not have to make a whole dinner! 7. Everyday life 1. There are some living houses next to the hostel so loud music is just tolerated until 23:00 except on the 2nd, 5th, and 7th days (until 02:00 AM). You can continue being together using the outside community spaces. Please don’t organize party in your room. The last one who goes to bed should leave the areas used nice and clean. 2. During the program the camp will be our home. I would like to ask everybody to take care for the order, especially around the toilets. Leave everything you use and every place you visit as you found it – or better. If (accidentally) anything would break, please contact one of the youth leaders. 3. There are always people on projects who fall in love. In itself this is no problem – however, it should not lead to asocial behavior. The purpose of the camp is informal learning and getting to know new people, so please do not withdraw from the group for long periods. Also, if you have a long-term relationship back home, keep this in mind and be respectful.
4. Do not leave the place without having notified your youth leader – in that way, no one gets lost, and no one gets worried. 5 Every group has to help with the meals.
