Programme description: Bacteria, fungi, algae, protozoa, enzymes, bacterial metabolism, recombinant DNA and genetic engineering, kinetics of bacterial growth, microbial transformation of carbon, organic matter, phosphorous and sulfur, halogens and organohalides, metals and metalloids, modeling of bacterial growth, plant cell biotechnology, bioreactors, in-situ application of biotechnology, environmental applications, biotechnology and pharmacy.
Training effect – skills and competence: The ability to employ living organisms and biocatalysers into production of biologically active and chemical substances of industrial usage; the knowledge necessary to control processes of biosynthesis, bioconversion and biotransformation through biotechnological means.
