Programme description: Application of CHEMCAD for modelling and simulation of petrochemical processes. Basics of modelling of distillation processes of petroleum and petrochemical products, using pseudo-component approach. Solving of thecalculation problems encountered in gas and oil technology, using Scilab and Matlab software. Solving complex equilibriums in chemical systems involving multiple reactions. Modelling of vapour-liquid and “flash” phase equilibriums by - method. Approximation of experimental data. Multiple regression analysis. Formulation of petrochemical products. Optimization of distillation processes used for production of gasoline and petroleum-based solvents. Computer-aided management of petroleum supplies and distribution of petrochemical products.
Training effect – skills and competence: Mastering of the methods of simulation of refinery processes using CHEMCAD. Skills of distillation modelling of different petroleum-based chemicals. Ability to apply various computer software packages for modelling of physical and chemical processes, experimental data work-up and solving real technological problems encountered in gas and oil industry.
The lecturer informs about requirements, weight of assessment components, recommended literature, schedule of tests or other organizational issues at the first meeting.
